Psalm 69 v 34-36
Heaven and earth should praise him, the seas and everything in them.
God will save Jerusalem and rebuild the cities of Judah.
Then people will live there and own the land.
The descendants of his servants will inherit that land, and those who love him will live there.
It is right and proper that all Heaven and Earth should praise our God. Look and marvel at all he has created, it is truly wonderful.
God wants our praise and our love, He wants only what is best for us, and to achieve that we need to do our part, that is to learn to trust and obey. This is in sharp contrast to the world we live in, where trust is in short supply and authority is rebelled against in so many ways.
In Luke 11 verse 28 it says "But Jesus said, Happy are those who hear the teaching of God and obey it."
In learning his teachings, we learn of the promises of God, that we are indeed His heirs and the inheritance that is ours because of Jesus making our relationship right with Him even though we do not deserve this. To have a peace that surpasses all understanding is truly a gift worth having. The assurances that God gives us are worth far more than material possessions. It reminds me of the words from a hymn, "all good gifts around us are sent from heaven above, so thank the Lord, thank the Lord for all His love".
Father I ask you to open my eyes to see your word. Please give me the wisdom to understand your word and apply it as I go about my everyday life. I ask your help to be a true descendent of yours, and behave accordingly. Amen.
