2 Corinthians 6:1-2

We are workers together with God, so we beg you: Do not let the grace that you received from God be for nothing. God says,
"At the right time I heard your prayers.
On the day of salvation I helped you." - [Isaiah 49:8]
I tell you that the "right time" is now, and the "day of salvation" is now.

Two great thoughts from today's reading.

First of all Paul describes himself and us, as Christians, as workers together.

Have you ever seen a Dad with his small child wash the car? (OK I am that Dad) The little lad is keen and enthusiastic and so his Dad lets him clean the car with him. The result is often a smeared and messy job that took twice as long and a broad grin on his Dad's face. The working together was more important than the job. What a privilege to be asked by God to work together with him and to know that when we do it melts our father's heart.

The other thought is about timing. It makes all the difference you know; whether you are a great sports player, musician or comic. It is all in the timing. It is also true in our walk with God. God's timing is perfect, "At the right time I heard your prayers". Sometimes God seems to be too late, not answering our prayers in time. However, we can know that the Lord of all Time will get his timing just right.

The challenge is will we? Will we respond now, today to what he is calling us to or will our timing be out?

Today, why not notice the time and at the same time every hour of today ask God to show you what he wants you to do now.

Lord of all time
We thank you that you have called me to work together with you.
Forgive me for the times when I have felt following you was a duty rather than a joy.
Help me to hear your voice and respond willingly today.
Amen
