Psalm 69 v 13-18

But I pray to you, LORD, for favour. God, because of your great love, answer me. You are truly able to save.
Pull me from the mud, and do not let me sink. Save me from those who hate me and from the deep water.
Do not let the flood drown me or the deep water swallow me or the grave close its mouth over me.

LORD, answer me because your love is so good. Because of your great kindness, turn to me.
Do not hide from me, your servant. I am in trouble. Hurry to help me!
Come near and save me; rescue me from my enemies.

On reading this passage we too can be encouraged. Our God is there for us to cry out to, he has not changed, He loves us and wants to save us. He is prepared to accept us as we are. When times are trying I personally take great comfort from Psalm 46 verse 1
"That God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble."

There are many examples throughout the Bible of how God uses people with seemingly very little going for them. By his strength they were empowered and did mighty things for his glory. We too have the same opportunity to go about our Father's business just as our greatest example Jesus did. Jesus gave all the credit to his Father, and did his Father's will even when he came to his lowest point on the cross. Jesus knew when his work was done he was going home to be with his Father.

I know that heaven awaits the believer who accepts that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. There is always hope for us with God. No matter how many times we mess up he is there to help us. I am so thankful for his forgiveness, help and strength when I am weak and in need of his mercy.

Our God gives us his grace and favour time and time again. So often we do not realise this and take it for granted.

Father I thank you for your loving kindness which is your free gift to me. Help me to remain true to you in difficult periods of my life seeing them through leaning on you. Do not let me forget you when things are good. Thank you Father. Amen
