John 14 v 1-4
Jesus said, "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father's house; I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
How easy do any of us find it to trust other people when they tell us something? Even when it is someone we have spent time with and know quite well, when they tell us something out of the ordinary, we will sometimes find it hard to trust them, even if they suggest that there is something good attached to it.
Here is Jesus telling his disciples to trust him, even though he is about to be crucified. Even the promise of him going to prepare places for them doesn't seem to lessen the blow for them.
Being blind, trust is something I have to do most days to enable me to get around, or be in places that I need to be. But sometimes if things don't sound quite right, or aren't in the right place, then that trust can be slightly worn away.
Someone once gave me a short phrase which read, "Faith isn't faith until it's all you're hanging on too"! Are we in a place today, where we can say that we totally, and completely trust God, in all things?
Dear God, please help me to trust you more, and when my faith is weak, please forgive me, and draw me close to you.
