Philippians 2 v 25-30
Epaphroditus, my brother in Christ, works and serves with me in the army of Christ. When I needed help, you sent him to me. I think now that I must send him back to you, because he wants very much to see all of you. He is worried because you heard that he was sick. Yes, he was sick, and nearly died, but God had mercy on him and me too so that I would not have more sadness. I want very much to send him to you so that when you see him you can be happy, and I can stop worrying about you. Welcome him in the Lord with much joy. Give honour to people like him, because he almost died for the work of Christ. He risked his life to give me the help you could not give in your service to me.
God wants people who are willing to work for him. There us always work to be done around the corner from your own home. Paul needed help and help was sent to him in the person of Epaphroditus. Sometimes people become lazy and refuse to work, but there is much work to be done in this place where we live.
The hospitals need volunteers, the schools need people to paint the fences and railings around them. Someone might need their garden cleaned up. How about shopping for an older person or giving a hungry person some food. What kind of work do you think you could do for others. Have you got anyone who is longing to see you. Why would you long to see someone, it has to be that there us a relationship formed between you and that individual, that there us partnership of some sort going on at some time or another. Let this partnership be also with Christ, who will teach you how to care for others who are sick, properly not only physically but spiritually, emotionally and mentally. Sometimes we have to take risks with our lives to sake someone else life eg firemen, police, rescue teams, those people are very special.
Heavenly Father use me to help someone as I travel on my way each day, that I may impact the lives of people who seeks for a mentor. Thanks you fro giving me wisdom. Amen.
