John 21 v 10-14
Then Jesus said, "Bring some of the fish you just caught."
Simon Peter went into the boat and pulled the net to the shore. It was full of big fish, one hundred fifty-three in all, but even though there were so many, the net did not tear. Jesus said to them, "Come and eat." None of the followers dared ask him, "Who are you?" because they knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, along with the fish.
This was now the third time Jesus showed himself to his followers after he was raised from the dead.
Being blind I don't always recognise people when they arrive somewhere or say hello. Obviously I do have to rely much more on voice as I can't see faces. Here the followers knew, they don't need to tell Jesus that they know who he is, they just know and enjoy that moment.
How would you know that Jesus was in your life? The followers knew that it was him, because they spent so much time with Jesus, but do we spend enough time with Jesus, that we would recognise him in our lives and the things he does for us.
Dear Lord, Please help me to spend more time with you, so I can recognise you in my life, and the things you do for me. Amen.
