Ephesians 3 v 7-11
By God's special gift of grace given to me through his power, I became a servant to tell that Good News. I am the least important of all God's people, but God gave me this gift - to tell those who are not Jews the Good News about the riches of Christ, which are too great to understand fully. And God gave me the work of telling all people about the plan for his secret, which has been hidden in him since the beginning of time. He is the One who created everything. His purpose was that through the church all the rulers and powers in the heavenly world will now know God's wisdom, which has so many forms. This agrees with the purpose God had since the beginning of time, and he carried out his plan through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul became the select Apostle to the Gentiles. It was revealed to him that the Gentiles stood on equal footing with God's chosen people, the Jews. No human wisdom or power could have given this knowledge or strength to proclaim it.
Paul took this role very seriously. In fact the Apostle Paul's ministry has impacted more people in the Western world than anyone else. Such was his zeal that he said, "woe to me if I do not preach the gospel." What does your life define? How are you a witness? Is it through words or through actions? If you live a Christ-like life in today's society you will stick out like a sore thumb. You may be ridiculed, made fun of, but as Paul said - "I am a fool for Christ."
I once ran into a group of radical Muslims who surrounded me because I handed out some leaflets about Jesus. They threatened to beat me if I did not stop. In my young zeal I lamented that I was only following my Lord Jesus and if they beat me I can only react like him, non-violently. Some chord struck and by a miracle, one by one they left me. That incident has made me strong in my faith. It is amazing how when you practically witness to Jesus you understand the mysteries of Christ (John 8:31-32).
How have you been moved to witness to Jesus at work, amongst friends or in a situation where you never compromised the Word of God? This is how Paul administered the gospel of Christ.
Lord Jesus, thank you for leaving me on this earth to witness to your life. Help me in my times of weakness to turn to you for strength. Amen
