John 21 v 15-19

When they finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."
A third time he said, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" Peter said, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you!"

He said to him, "Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you
were younger, you tied your own belt and went where you wanted. But when you are old, you will put out your hands and someone else will tie you and take you where you don't want to go." (Jesus said this to show how Peter would die to give glory to God.) Then Jesus said to Peter, "Follow me!".

What does it mean to love someone? I think back to my wedding day, and the vows I made on that day, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, basically whatever situation faces me, or us, I am going stay with you because I love you.

Jesus keeps asking Peter if he loves him, and time and time again Peter says yes, but maybe Jesus was asking him, because Jesus knew what was coming up in Peter's life!!!!

If we say we love someone, does that mean total love, unconditional love, or does it mean, I love you accept in this situation.

God entered into a relationship with us, and gave his only son that our relationship could be made stronger, so can we say today, God I love you!!!!

Jesus, I want to say in all situations that I love you, but I am afraid I will let you down. Jesus please forgive me when I let you down, but in my heart of hearts Jesus I do love you. Amen.
