Psalm 68:28-31

God, order up your power; show the mighty power you have used for us before.
Kings will bring their wealth to you, to your Temple in Jerusalem.
Punish Egypt, the beast in the tall grass along the river. Punish the leaders of nations, those bulls among the cows. Defeated, they will bring you their silver. Scatter those nations that love war.
Messengers will come from Egypt; the people of Cush will pray to God.

As you can see from the psalms, it's OK to get everything off your chest to God. God is big enough to take it! Sometimes I have talked with people who clearly feel let down and disappointed by God and I have encouraged them to pour all their disappointment and frustration out to God. The psalm writers do it all the time.

And somehow by working through their anger like this in God's hearing, God's grace starts working on them to help them see things differently, or reassure or encourage them.

The wonderful thing is that we can be totally honest with God.

And God would far rather we were sounding off at what we see as God holding back where we think he should be active, than that we refuse to talk to him at all. God needs us to keep our communication channels open, through the worst and the ugliest situations. Otherwise it's like a pilot shutting off communication with the control tower who can guide the plane safely - not too sensible, really.

God does know what he's doing, and always works for greatest blessing, with our ultimate good at heart. If you start off telling God what you feel he ought to be doing, don't forget to do some listening as well. Make your body still, put your own thoughts down carefully as they come rushing into your mind, and be open to what God is whispering into your heart.

It may be peace and reassurance you are given, or a challenge or firm reminder. You may find yourself questioning where your anger and frustration really came from, and recognising where you are the one needing God's anointing love.

Be still, my soul, be still.
Rest quietly in the presence of the all powerful God
Who made this planet and all the universe
And knows us each by name.
Each one made in the image and likeness of God.
Each one loved and valued.
Be still, my soul, be still.
Rest quietly in the presence of the all powerful God.
