John 20 v 26-29
A week later the followers were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but Jesus came in and stood right in the middle of them. He said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand here in my side. Stop being an unbeliever and believe."
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
Then Jesus told him, "You believe because you see me. Those who believe without seeing me will be truly happy."
In this passage Jesus proves to Thomas that he is alive. For many of us we need proof that Jesus exists. For me it seems easy at times to see God at work in people's lives, seeing the changes which only God can do. I see it in young people who have changed their lifestyles to follow the Lord. Two of my young people have changed their whole ideas of education and want to become full time youth workers. Why? Because the power of God has entered into their lives and they want to show and share God's love.
Look around at the people you know, see the difference in those who call themselves true followers. It is amazing to me when people say that they don't see God working. If you are like Thomas then Jesus is saying to you "stop being an unbeliever and believe". Just look at the people you know who follow Him and see the difference that the risen Lord makes.
Father God, help people to see in my life that I am true follower of Jesus Christ. Help me to be a witness to honour the risen Lord. Amen
