Praying, Giving and Receiving - a special series for Lent on Matthew's Gospel, written by Peter Graystone
Over the last few days we have looked at the beginning of the Sermon on Mount. Reflect on the verses:
Matthew 5:3-6
[Jesus said,]
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
God of the rich and God of the poor, bring justice to all who cry out to you this day. Amen.
