Matthew 5:16
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Darkness is in the world, but the light has been switched on. God's people are called to show how compelling that light is.
Jesus is asking for individual and small-scale acts of goodness by each Christian be a commonplace part of life - in households, in streets, in communities. If, as a Christian, you want to be a person who makes life better, make sure you express it in ways that others can see. Not so that they realise you are a good person, but so that they realise you serve a good God!
Jesus, as I shine as your light in this world, may others see you in me as our Lord and Saviour. Amen
