Ephesians 1:19-23
And you will know that God's power is very great for us who believe. That power is the same as the great strength God used to raise Christ from the dead and put him at his right side in the heavenly world. God has put Christ over all rulers, authorities, powers, and kings, not only in this world but also in the next. God put everything under his power and made him the head over everything for the church, which is Christ's body. The church is filled with Christ, and Christ fills everything in every way.
You open the present! It is amazing! It does so much cool stuff. You turn the switch on, but nothing happens. You have no batteries.
Our faith is a bit like that gift. It is incredible to think just how much God loves you, how much he believes in you, but without power ..... it's just an ornament.
Think of the power that raised Jesus from the dead, that same power is the power that makes you new in Jesus!
Think of the power that placed Jesus on the throne, that is the power that makes you new in Jesus!!
That power of God changes the dead into life, the weak into the strong, those who have experienced shame into those with honour and those who are losers into winners. This is what the power of God did for Jesus and this is what the power of God can do for you.
You are more than just a fancy gadget or an amazing toy; you have power; power to change things for the better. So switch yourself on!!
Help me today to understand just how powerful I am in Jesus. Help me to use that power to bring life, strength, honour and victory to the people that I meet. Amen
