Ephesians 2:19-22

Now you who are not Jewish are not foreigners or strangers any longer, but are citizens together with God's holy people. You belong to God's family. You are like a building that was built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus himself is the most important stone in that building, and that whole building is joined together in Christ. He makes it grow and become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Christ you, too, are being built together with the Jews into a place where God lives through the Spirit.

So - the incredible story of the people of God is for everyone. That means you and me. That means that all the truths contained in the Bible are true for you and me. That means that God sees you and me as his "chosen people". All of the amazing stories of the prophets and apostles in the Bible apply to you and me.

Can you imagine what the Christian church would be like if everyone truly understood what Paul is saying here?

Jesus has made it possible for God's people to become "a holy temple" - good news for those who don't know about God's love and forgiveness. And, what's more, we have the power of the Almighty God to help us, because all promises set out by God for his people (told in those incredible accounts in the Old Testament) are available to us today.

Jesus has made it possible for God to have his people back with him again.

So what are you waiting for? Surely there's good news to share!

Lord, we need your power in our lives. Help us as Christian people to rely on you. Help us to share the good news that you lived and died for us. Help us to see that we've got the power to change the world if we follow you! Amen
