Words mean only as much as the action associated with them. The other day our President said our seniors may not recieve there needed funds next month. Fear? From our own President?? Given to we the people? Why would he make such a terrible statement!! Why would the leader of the free world say something like that?

I was not only angry by this statement I was hurt by it as well! Our own President telling his own people,you may not get what you need from us anymore! HOW DARE HE!! Scaring seniors!! Scaring Veterans,scaring our own nation! Our own President?? I was so mad, I had to pray!! Lord what is going on here?? I mean really going on here??

I know we are living in the end times,but what is the purpose of our own President saying something so hurtful to us, his people?? Are we his people? Or did he say this,by accident,telling us the real truth many have known all along?

Silence. Sometimes silence is an answer as well! Those who have children,and those who really need there money each month just to get by,what are they to think? What are we all to think? I do not know what will happen my friends,but I sure do believe this,it is really time to get our house in order!

Make peace with those who have sinned against you,give your child some special love and attention,call those you have not heared from in a long time. Something is really coming,and it is coming much sooner then any of us thought it ever would! Am I creating fear?? NO my friends, I am telling you what to do as fear is coming to take hold of us all.

In my 57 years I have seen so much,Jesus to me is really the only truth I have ever known,apart from all of my shortcoming in him,I do love him,and am thankful ever so much he loves us as well! No matter how we feel,or how we act. Many have looked to Government for there needs,they rely on them,yes they ever depend on them.

Was the President saying to those people, you cannot anymore? Was our President doing something the government seldom ever does? Speaking truth to his own people? Time will tell.

Jesus said " and you shall know the truth,and this truth, his truth,shall set us free!(john 8:31-32)providing something!!! meaning under one condition!! We stay in his Word! And by doing this,we stay in him as well!

Many have looked for truth in every place other then where it is, I sure used to! Truth in plain sight??no way!! It cannot be in plain sight!! We sometimes see, but ignore,we see others in pain and sorrow,a homeless person for example,we think and say oh look, that poor soul.or maybe we do not even think about that person at all! Many are only affected, by what happens to them in there own live,they have no cares about another person.

I know most of you are not like this,but are we seeing this from our own government? It has every appearance that this is so.Words carry with them action,even if what a person says,they say they did not mean to say it.Words reflect what one really means. I do not care for the reflection by our President! Words have great power,why the very world we live in was so created by words!( Gen 1:3) So why is our own President speaking such words to create fear among so many?

I do not know,you will have to ask him! These words by him, will never be forgotten though I can tell you this,they will be forgiven him,but not forgotten come election time,if there is an election time.

To encourage is to always create hope,hope that though you all have troubles,someone does care!! Someone does want better things for you!! What many have found out is that our own government does not! truth in plain sight,quite by accident really! Get ready fellow believers!! Please get ready!! (Rom 13:11-14) Of course I am praying for our Government,and I ask you to do the same.Blessing to you all!!

the 'we the people' of our nation aren't understanding the seriousness of our situation... and aren't therefore pushing the house/senate to quick wasting time and resources and get our country's financial situation under control. i fully believe that he was giving us a call to arms. either quit screwing around and make it happen, or we're going to run out of money.

We are out of money!! have been out of Money..... and are 18 Trillion in debt...

If the bank balance is ZERO, then you can't write a check to by food. You can, but you will get charged with forgery, and passing a bad check. Our government has been practicing forgery, and using money that is not there for years... They do what other people Go to jail for...

Obama's comment was in hopes that it would scare enough people to get the other half to act and respond to His demands... that is to Raise the debt ceiling and send out those checks... He has no other tactic but to scare the public and have the other half of Congress to look like the bad guys... In turn they change there mind and allow Obama to raise the debt ceiling.

It would be nice, if you or I could not afford something and to get it anyway, we just "Raise our debt" Ceiling.... This is the thinking that has brought down our nation....

Obama made a correct statement.... His solution is wrong though.... There has not been money for S.S.I for years.....

God has to be our source..... God does not depend on the government to supply all of our needs... We were warned for years that S.S.I would run out.... Now it's time to face the piper.... In fact, we have no money for anything.... A nation in debt, is a "Owned" nation, and if shutting it all down gets us out of debt, and reduces the paying 46 some billion in interest every year, then the better.

Interesting situation.

Noticed on the news that the US credit rating is under threat.

US debt is enormous, increasing competition from overseas markets.

It must be difficult for you guys to come to terms with this new financial reality.

Austerity measures are in order, tough stuff.

If we think we can still offer food stamps, SSI, and host of other things we give under our Socialist Government and not crumble we are mistaken.

We tried to be a Nice and polite version of Russia... and cover it with a different name.. we have used programs to make people dependent, and put them under control of the Government....

To fix this, people will have to starve, many will die, but enough is enough...

It's time to pay up!!! and Be the free Nation God intended...

I'm looking in from outside, and I have to say I am shocked by the hard-heartedness of many American Christians.

Any talk of helping the poor is met with - 'they should get off their butts and work', 'why should our taxes go on hand-outs'...etc etc,

The most lovely hospitable caring people we stayed with would come out with the most incredible, un-Christ-like statements when talking about the poor, immigrants, outcasts, criminals in their society.

The thing is, do you have the same Bible over there?!?! Almost every other page from Genesis through to Revelation talks about caring for the poor, the orphan, the widow. And look at Jesus and how he dealt with tax collectors, prostitutes etc...

Obama, I believe, is a good man who is trying to right some of the hideous inequalities in American society. I was in downtown Philadelphia doing football coaching with kids and it reminded me of the slums in Brazil. That surely is wrong for the richest country in the world?

So it will cost you. So he is doing it at a time where due to the rampant greed and idolatry that has ruled Western culture there are crippling debts to be paid. It doesn't mean he is wrong to do it. And it doesn't mean that the poorest should suffer most for the greed of the richest (like is happening here now with councils cutting care-services for elderly and vulnerable youth).

I think many American Christians need to take a good long look at themselves, with God's eyes. And ask is my attitude Christ-like???

Not saying UK Christians are perfect, we have our own problems (hypocrisy, materialism, love of comfort). But I feel the call to speak out in love as your brother.

You want to know what's hard.... all these people that want hand outs... People have a sense that they are owed something, and where is that in scripture??

The scripture says that My God Shall supply all your Needs....... Not other people, not the government...

Yet, we have trained people over the last 60 years to depended on the government and now it's time to pay up.. The money is gone.... and we are 18 Trillion in debt. That means no money left....

Christians are some of the worse people when it comes to money. They complain about that Pastor having a plane, when it could have feed some people, complain about the rich, complain about how bad the poor is.. but that does not stop them from not giving part of their income, or considering the poor before their own bills are paid...

Just look at their check books and see where the money goes first when they get a check..... Who gets paid first?????

It sure does not go to God, and people in need, but to pay their cable bills and rent.. God is not first, if rent payment is..
It's sad to hear this constantly..... "God just meets our needs, we have just enough"..... Where is your faith to increase so that others can also have enough?? Selfish, and self focused.....

Christians then point out about all the rich, and all the men and women of God that have great material wealth, and judge them, when God is not even thought of when they get money in their hands...

1Ti 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
1Ti 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Most Christians read that and think "Ya, those rich people and rich pastors should not be that way and have nice things...It could have fed the poor"

As if God will run out of resources because someone has a nice house??

Faith would read it like this....................

"Ya, I can't be high minded, I have to put God first and distribute my wealth......"

The United States has created a mass population that depends on hand outs, and dependency on the Government. We are not different than Russia where people have stood in long lines to just get toilet paper... No, Were America, and we don't make them wait in lines, we just hand them money to get what they want at their convince...We are better than that.....

America sends all our troops over seas to keep the peace on the earth, while everyone else besides the British sits around and wants to "Talk about it, and negotiate".....

America wants to pay for everyone's Health care now.. and just allow big money Oil jack their prices up as much as the care to, and complain if someone wants to build our own well's, because it might hurt some tree's...... and extinct some animal nobody but the liberals care about.... after all, nature, before people...

America wants to bail out the car makers and banks.... nobody has figured out that we can't compete with our high priced labor unions, Lack of new Technology, and innovation. and crooked banks we keep supporting....

America wants to pass tons of new laws all the time, have to make the politicians look good, we have to lock everyone up, and have more in prison than any other country in the world...
Who is going to pay to enforce all those new laws??
Who is going to pay to keep people locked up??
Nobody thinks about that, and with money cut in half for most police departments, they sure can't do it...

15 million on food stamps... another estimated 14 million that need them but don't qualify because they are not poor enough, yet their kids are undernourished.......the hard working person falls in that space where they don't qualify for help, so they struggle month after month, and quality food is the last thing they consider....

It's time for a change....and it's not going to be pretty.... but if your out of money, then your out of money...

People can complain all they want.... but sure shut up if asked to make sacrifices, and they don't even consider WHO is going to pay for it....
