Hi what are your views on a Christian working as a temp in a variety of jobs for different organisations who then suddenly finds they have accepted a short but nonetheless notable position in a liquor production company which helps work towards the promotion and consumption of alcohol to potential excess?

[Edit- Thankyou very much everyone Such insightful and wise replies I appreciate them Praise God and blessings!]

That Christian should consider whether or not they heard from Jesus correctly when they decided to apply for the job(s). Of course, if the Christian did not ask Jesus if they were supposed to apply for the job(s), the Christian should go into prayer and determine what the will of the Spirit is. Furthermore, if the Christian didn't ask Jesus if they were supposed to apply for the job(s) and didn't go into the job(s) with the attitude of "I am going to minister to people during my job", then the Christian should seek forgiveness for departing from his/her commission.

All Christians should remember that their mission is this:

Mat 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, unto the end of the world. Amen.

In Yahweh's Love and Truth,

Christ's Serf

I agree with christserf but just want to add that it is almost impossible to work for a company or organization that do not have some kind of negative aspects that is a stumbling block for Christians. (That is my experience).

"Jam 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."

I would highly suggest that a Christian in any such position must take the problem up with God. His purpose for your life must be the first priority and if you know what it is, the answer is easy - do the will of God.

"Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Hope it helped some.

Blessings!

Your replies are so helpful. :love:I shall always consider if something I'm doing is to the glory of God or not. God bless you.

Lots of people who love Jesus and worship Him and know Him as Saviour, find themselves in situations not ideal for a Christian. But to live, feed themselves, children, family etc. they go ahead, looking to the Lord as they do so.

You will make your own judgement on your situation I am sure. Rest assured God loves you....you are his child.....and this situation will not rob you of His love, neither will it rob you of His Salvation. You may have to guard your own soul and spirit, as you go about your business.

Other than that go ahead asking Jesus to help you and lead you into a more suitable position

I find in my life when I come across an area that I am not really sure what to do. I have found it helps to ask myself, What would Jesus do in this situation?"

I have known of devout Christian who refused to take a job driving a beer transport. On the other hand some wait in bars and such in order to raise money to feed families. I believe rule of thumb here is, if is hurting your conscience then do not do it. What ever is not from faith is sin.Rom 14:23
all the best...
