Hi, QuietProtest:love:

I'm taking a really neat, 60 day course online about feeding on Jesus.
In it, each day, we record whether or not we feasted on God's Word that day, and whether or not we exercised, and if so, what we did and for how long.

I like the accountability of the course, but even more so, I cherish the course because I am getting richer and richer on the Word of God. There are actually hundreds of Scriptures which address our eating choices and our decisions to give our bodies over to God, as they are His temple for the Holy Spirit!

If I did not exercise that day, I mark "no", but I try to make sure that I get some exercise in the next day.

I have lost 3 pounds in 10 days, and it really has not been difficult at all. I needed the structure and the study, and I especially needed accountability.
I have an online mentor + an online accountability partner! It works, because it is from God.

Can you do quick work outs at home? I have a gym membership but I don't get there enough. So I make sure I work out a little at home after work. I like to do crunches, I will do about 10. Nothing major. Just something to keep my workouts going when I can't get to the gym. Maybe you can go for a power walk around your neighborhood? I try to do that also. There are also some great exercise taps out there. I had one where there where about 5 different workouts, and each one was 10 minutes long. I think it was called "bootcamp workout" I can't remember im sorry! But just doing those workouts for 10 minutes were great!

Good luck!!

Hey Journey11!

I don't have a gym membership anymore, but I have some small hand-held weights and a treadmill. I need to remember to stretch more and do my sit-ups and push-ups on the living room floor. I can't do floor exercises if my toddler is awake and up. Lol, have you ever tried to do sit-ups with a 35 pound child sitting on your stomach? Or do push-ups with a hefty toddler leaning on your back?

Well, my husband goes ahead and does the sit-ups with Caleb sitting on his belly, but he's tougher than me.

I know I'm a little strange...but I've never had a problem exercising. I like to exercise and I like the way it makes me feel. My problem in the past has been using food to comfort anxiety, or using candy for a sugar high when I'm depressed. That comfort and/or sugar high do not last, and in the end, they bite you.

I enjoyed a gym membership once for a short amount of time, but to tell you the truth, I really enjoy walking or jogging outside, or on my treadmill in the laundry room, more.

People normally dress skimpily at gyms and the television is set at worldly channels right in front of the treadmills and exercise equipment, and you can't change the channel.

I like to put on headphones with praise music and enjoy myself. If I ever find a Christian gym or aerobic class, and I can afford to take it, I will do it. I love aerobic dance, but it has been quite awhile since I have participated in that.

God is good! All the time!:sun:

Dreamer,

I have a membership with the YMCA. It is based on Christian principals, but it's basically like any other gym I have gone into. They are very kid friendly so thats good. Your right about the TV, its the same thing there. I also bring music and I listen to Christian music. It really helps me to keep going. I love the Elliptical machine. I get a great workout from it. Of course I get so busy with work myself, that I make sure I work out at home. I could see how it would be hard to workout at home with a toddler on your back. :)

The program your doing sounds very interesting. Is it free?

Yes, it is! It does take from 30 to 40 minutes daily to read through and study the lessons and answer the questions. But I believe it is time well-spent. The course has already turned around my thinking and my habits.

I really needed this. Because although I love to exercise, I was not eating correctly. It is almost as though I was making my weight and food and IDOL over God.

This course puts God first, and then the rest of life seems to fall into balance. I love it so far and I'm even looking forward to taking the second course after the 60 day course is over.

I would like to send for the workbooks and teach this class at my church. If it is helping me, then it will help other people too. With it being scripture-based, you can't lose by studying it.....even if you never lose any weight....one would still lose some misconceptions about eating and strengthen one's relationship with Christ.

Pm me, and I'll give you the website address! It's free to the public because so many people and churches support it.

Quick exercise at home tips:

- jump rope
- jogging / running
- ab workouts
- stretching
- swimming if you have a pool
- medicine ball if you have this (good for stretching / abs)

Ask in Jesus' name for motivation and energy!

I have an exercise ball and a small set of wieghts in my room and when I have a food moments here and there I wil do a few moves to get in some exercise on small doses. I know what you mean about a busy schedule. I just do alittle here and there through out the day. It does add up.

I think that doing a little here and there is great. Doing what you can do with a busy schedule. Sometime there is just no time to workout. I know that when I do get home late from work, all I want to to is rest! Sometimes I have to push myself to do something lol. Is it hard to use the exercise ball?
