I have a smartphone that I bought about 7 months ago, unfortuately one day it felt off my hand and the screen got cracked, I took it to the store, for them to check it up, but they said that a cracked phone cannot be fixed, or exchange even with the full protection insurance I am paying monthly,

My think is, that is the reason I have insurance, to have a backup in case of an accident.

Now, the store mentioned that the only way to get a replacement if I report that it got lost or stolen, inwhich case I would pay a copayment of 100 and get a refurbished phone,

But in the other part I feel that this might not be honest.

What should I do???

How would they make money on insurance if it actually covered a most likely scenario.

Anything that you can't do in faith is sin because if we can't bring God with us then where is our grace going to come from.

How did we ever escape sin but by believing on the finished work of the Lord Jesus and resting in his grace.Sin is not about "do",it's about "be".
The fact that you even ask tells me this is bothering your "be".

It is never right to lie. Have you prayed about this and ask the Lord to soften someone of authorities heart? After praying call the head of the company you baught it from. If LG or Motorola made it call them and ask for the very top person you can talk to. Be sweet and praise the phone, admit exactally what happened. Leave the rest to the Lord. This very well could be a test of your faith and a chance to witness to someone. The Lord jesus is now in charge and you want to be in the center of the Lords will. Please let us know what happens.

Yes I agree with what you say farout

Take it to the Lord in prayer rickygtz, He knows your needs, He loves you and will lead you in His ways

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths

Hi Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Fathers day to all of you who are fathers. I just wanted to update this topic and testify that I have a fixed almost new phone now.

This is what happened.

My phone started having more problems , now it had the charging light going on and off all the time, like the phone thinking it was plugged and unplugged from the wall charger, so I called to the insurance and told them this problem, and what could I do to fix or have a replacement since I had full insurance

They asked me for the exact day that this problem started, and my with my bad memory and being in a hurry I told them this happened like two months ago, and they said what date, so I just said anything, march 28 , which was the only date I could think , but then again I believe that the problem actually started on late april, anyways

They said, Sorry, our policy states that you need to make a claim within 60 days the problem happened... and I was like, no sorry, I actually dont know which date exactly I believe it was actually april 28, so is not yet 60 days, they replied, we cannot due anything the information was in already...

So I sadly accepted this and ended up my insurance, next I went to ebay and found a replacement parts kit for 99 dlls which was the whole phone, missing only the main board , which mine had fine, so I decided buying it

The parts came and they were perfect, I called to a repair shop and they said they would charge me 45 dlls to install it for me and I was about to take them but they told me take it at 10 am, but , it happened that I went to mexico that day , ( i live 30 min away) and visit my family around 9 am and took the phone and new phone kit parts with me, and when I was buying some stuff , I happened to find a cell phone repair shop, and I asked them if they could put the parts into the phone I got from ebay and they did it perfectly for 150 mexican pesos which is about $12!!!

Now I have the phone fully working and the spare parts. So I want to thank God, because even the situations seemed to not be very good, he gave me the help , and wisdom to do this , with integrity,

God Bless you, sorry my english ,

Happy Fathers Day

Rick

I remember your situation and I suggested you should never lie, but trust the Lord. See it worked out and praise the Lord you proved that you are sofe in always dealing with trust and prayer.

When we make the right decision for God, we are more likely to make right choices in the future and soon enough, make them without hesitation. Your on your way brother. :)

and the truth shall make you free

It is unfortunate that your phone is broken. However, that is not the crux of the issue here.

Yes, purchasing insurance would certainly be an understandable hedge against breakage or loss. BUT, it sounds to me like you did not carefully READ the insurance policy that you VOLUNTARILY agreed to comply with as a part of the phone service CONTRACT. And now, because of that oversight, you realize that your type of loss is not covered by the insurance. Did you think that if the time ever came to actually submit a claim, that the merchant would cheerfully give you all that you asked for in recompense, and not make it difficult for you to recoup your loss? There is a reason why the terms "merchant" and "thief" are spoken of interchangeably in scripture...

Now, the store mentioned that the only way to get a replacement if I report that it got lost or stolen, inwhich case I would pay a copayment of 100 and get a refurbished phone,

But in the other part I feel that this might not be honest.

The born again follower of Jesus Christ can never be found to be sustaining a lie.

What should I do???

Hopefully, you will have learned a valuable lesson to be more diligent about the contracts you enter into. And God will honor your choice to do the right thing i.e. to not lie.

UPDATE: In the time I took to compose this post, others have posted here and the end of the story has been told:

Now I have the phone fully working and the spare parts. So I want to thank God, because even the situations seemed to not be very good, he gave me the help , and wisdom to do this , with integrity,

...and with integrity. Amen!
