WOW, WHAT DID JESUS SAY THE WORLD LOOKS LIKE WHEN HE RETURNS? JUST LIKE THE WORLD AROUND US TODAY!

This is an interesting teaching, but very basic....For example.....In the days of Noah, how many humans were on the planet? or When the flood waters lifted the ark, how many humans were left to die?
Are you a Christian?
If you truly believe in God and the Bible then Christian's don't die, we just change location.
The human soul is immortal. Death, for us, is simply a part of our existence.
We are going Home.

This is not what the Bible teaches.

Read carefully the key passages on the resurrection. 2 Corinthians 5 ; 1 Corinthians 15; Romans 8.

1. You can't leave out pre-ceding and post verses given your cherry picked ones. I stated the same concept but differently. I'll clarify.

2. 2 Corinthians 5:2-4 "For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life." - Our longing for a heavenly body.

3. 1 Corinthians 15:1-19 The Gospel of Jesus Christ
20-58 - The Glory of the Resurrection
These two focus on Jesus not us.

4. Romans 8 - Which part? The entire thing?

Our bodies "die" but we are given a new one.

I said nothing of Christians dying.

Yes, I meant the whole chapter of each of the three passages.

I chose them because they are three of the most powerful and detailed discussions in the new testament of our future hope.

The emphasis is on resurrection of our bodies, not on a change of location.

Belief in an immortal soul comes from greek philosophy (Plato), it's not something the Bible emphasises.

When all that happens it will be.
The soul is immortal and Plato doesn't change anything.
People who die before the End? What is it exactly is left when the body dies?
What "we" are without our bodies? The soul which only exists and is eternal unless one made the wrong choice..

I used to believe the soul was immortal, but I've studied it and now see that that's not a biblical understanding.

When the bible speaks of soul, the writers don't have a 'ghost in a machine' idea that's common in western thought.

Which is one reason why the new testament places such an emphasis on the resurrection of the body.

What drives that body?
The soul.
Ever since Adam died and everyone who's dead since a high majority the body is almost completely gone (dust) and many are still "juicy".
Many people their body it totally destroyed. Where exactly are the souls of these people?
Chillaxin' until Jesus 2.0?
What about a person who's in a coma and brain dead?
All will be given glorified bodies b/c mortal bodies are weak and finite.
The OT is fulfilled by Jesus.
It is still relevant:

Where does it say the soul is finite?

The human soul can be strong or weak (2 Peter 2:14), saved or lost (James 1:21; Ezekiel 18:4). It was created by God (Jeremiah 38:16). The human soul needs the protection, purification, and atonement of God (Leviticus 17:11; 1 Peter 1:22). The human soul is imperishable, and every human soul will be somewhere for eternity (Daniel 12:2; Matthew 25:46). This is a sobering thought—every person you have ever met is a soul, living in a body, and that soul will last forever. Some will reject the love of God and as a result they will have to pay for their own sins with death (Romans 6:23), and since the soul is eternal, it will be an eternal death. Those who accept the free gift of forgiveness and Christ's atoning sacrifice will experience the opposite—eternal life and peace, in heaven (Psalm 23:2).

The Greek word translated soul is psuche. Here's every instance of it in in the Bible. You'll see by context that the new testament authors don't have an immortal soul in the modern western sense in mind.

The Hebrew word is nephesh and the same applies.

I asked farther up this thread....how many humans were left to die when the flood waters carried the ark away....the answer is....NONE....The only humans left on the Earth at that time was Noah and his family

I've just re-read Genesis 6 and 7. What you say here is not supported by the text

Noah was perfect in his generations (genetics) The fact is...we need to understand Genesis 6 if we are going to understand the rest of the bible....So much hinges on our understanding what went on back then. Dig into Gen 6 and learn under the tutelege of the Holy Spirit. It says "These are the generations of Noah....What are the generations of Noah? Did you miss that? The generations of Noah is talking of his genetics....Whats going on there is called the Seed War, between God and satan. All the Earth was corrupted by satans genetic warfare, mixing man with angels, animals and whatnot in order to spoil God plans for a family, and to block a messiah. Thats why only eight people were saved. Only eight humans were left, the others were corrupted. And thats why God had to bring in the animals, only He knew which ones were uncorrupted.

Really.
When God creates a soul to inhabit our weak, mortal, flawed, FINITE flesh suit, show me where the soul stops existing.
When God passes judgment on someone and they are destroyed He is ending it. That's not an excuse.
This might be long but you've given Genesis 6 and 7. All of it? Huh.

Genesis 6 1-2 "The wickedness of man in the days of Noah.
3-4 "God's response to this great wickedness.
5-8 "The great wickedness of man in Noah's day."
9-10 "God calls Noah to build an ark."
11-13 "The corruption of the earth and the grace of God."
14-16 "God gives instructions on how to build the ark."
17-21 "Why the ark must be built and what Noah must do."
22 "Noah's obedience".

So far no mention of the human soul or it's eternal status.
Let's continue.

Genesis 7 "The final preparations of Noah for the flood."
1 "God invites Noah into the ark."
2-9 "Noah gathers all the animals and his family."
10-12 "God brings the waters up on the earth." Note GLOBAL FLOOD.
13-16 "All enter the ark and the door is shut."
17-23 "The Flood described."
24 "The flood lasted 150 days without receding.

Are you sure you have the right part of the Bible? I've read it so many times I've lost count. In typing this so much information comes back into my mind.
*Adam lived 930 years. You can be certain his soul is not gone.

That's mostly speculation. And it's not supported in any way by the text.

The text says that all God destroyed all man from the face of the earth Genesis 7:23. It's the same Hebrew word for man used in the creation stories in Genesis 1 and 2. It does not say that the flood destroyed all the human-angel hybrids, the nephiim, the genetic mutants or anything similar.

I was rereding Genesis 6and 7 in response to Admon Mikha'el's theories on the whole population of the world in Noah's time being non-human. Sorry for confusion.

TrTry doing a word study on those two verses

show me where the soul stops existing.

Ezekiel 18:4 says
The soul who sins is the one who will die.

Some translations (correctly) render nephesh here 'person'. The Hebrew word is nephesh. It is the only Hebrew word that is translated 'soul'.
