Boy, I'm so disappointed! First the let down by this toy company ! Especially when being all about gender shopping for my pantry, I find It's so hard to shop for just female potatoes now days.

I would like to know the motives for them changing their minds back, but still have less confidence now in the company. A child's toy should not be used to make a political statement in my opinion.

In a way I agree with you. The the battle right now really is for the children. The next generation.
They are bombarded from every single direction. Television, school, commercials, movies, cartoons, toys (yes, Mr. Potato).
Every single curriculum in school in school is more about anti-God ideas, atheism, LGBT, trans-genderism, than it is about actually teaching them a beneficial education.
This is from pre-school all the way up through college. If a teacher so much as mentions God, Jesus or the Bible they are fired that same day.

Mom and dad might say one thing, but all my friends, the teachers, television, the comic books, the toys, the movies, the news, are saying another thing.
Many songs of the radio, the books they are given, ... there is so much pressure from the world on children right now.

All my kids are grown up now and out of school. But I have grandchildrem just starting. If I had a child today, I would have to find a way to get them into a private Christian school
or possible home-school them.

Actually, the news story says it was changed to potato head, but now reversed the decision back to keep mr. potato head/original name.

Wanting to change the name to begin with for a pro transgender statement is very disturbing to me as a parent. Once that decision/statement was made, it turned an innocent toy to a political ideology.

The "editing" "flagging," "censoring" you name it... Be it toys, books, forums, tv shows, that is turning normal things people see everyday into political ideologies. it is meant to divide based on race, politics, religion, beliefs, etc. And if you do not think it is meant for this, it still does divide. That is the front line battle.

My daughter goes to a Christian preschool I work at. My son too. After they get older, I don't know what to do. I am praying about it. At least my home will be a place to serve the Lord. This news story didn't mention the gender neutral change....just that it is being changed back. All the major news networks mentioned this as a gender neutral move. I did misunderstand about the company name change versus the product though. Id have to read it again, but think I've had enough of this for now. I've been so much happier since taking a step out of politics, because it is hard watching what is going on in the world right now and the ideas my kids will have to sort through in walking with God.

Well, not all places. Baylor and Gonzaga played the college basketball championship last night (Baylor won and Coach Drew surely mentioned God after the game),

Baylor is the biggest Baptist university in the world - Gonzaga is a Catholic university. There are many Christian colleges and universities. And some schools like Princeton used to be Christian and changed to more secular, but it doesn't mean they are "unChristian".

But the "gender-neutrality" jazz even infects our Bible Translations. I recently got a Common English Bible done about 2011. The well-known term "Son of Man" which Jesus used of Himself has been replaced by "The Human One" which is sort of ridiculous. But I like the rest of the translation - it is one of the Wesley Study Bibles, with commentary notes from Wesley in the 1700's along with a modern translation.
