Trying to live a victorious life of faith without reading your Bible is like trying to put together a complex piece of electronic gear without reading the instruction manual. Neither is going to go well.
The apostle Paul wrote, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV).
The phrase "God-breathed" as Paul used it is important because it echoes what the apostle Peter wrote in today's verse. It literally means that every word of the Bible is straight from the mouth of God, who used men as His own human fountain pens to record what He has to say to every believer who has ever lived or ever will live.
The Bible is an amazing book, and God went to amazing lengths to give it to His people. You can trust it explicitly and completely, knowing that it is the communication straight from the heart and mind of the God who knew you'd need an instruction manual.
Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me Your written Word, which contains everything I need to live a life that pleases You.
