You were calling me all day but I didn’t hear.
Everywhere I went, you were always there.
I woke up and knew I had to pray,
But was too busy getting ready for the day.
I went to take a shower and came late to school.
Walking into class, I felt like a fool.
Busy doing school work, I didn’t think about you.
You crossed my mind, but I had other things to do.
Throughout the day you tried to talk, but I just didn’t get it,
Busy doing other things, I tend to forget it.
Went to the movies, chilled with friends, had a lot of fun.
Many things I did and soon the day was done.
Going to sleep, I remember about you,
But it was too late, a day wasted without you.
At night you didn’t leave me, you were still around,
Hoping in the morning I’ll bow my head to the ground.
In the morning I didn’t, I repeated the day,
Didn’t listen to you, I kept out of your way.
Throughout the day you spoke more and more,
And I just ignored you like I always have before.
The days went by; the week came to an end,
I came to church and remembered you’re my friend.
There I tried to pay attention, but it wasn't easy.
Thinking about other things, I was just too busy.
You were among us and still we didn’t see.
You tried everything to get through to me.
I am stubborn, pay no mind.
I am in the devil’s bind.
You did everything for me,
But I am stubborn, still don’t see.
You kept on trying and finally came through
And now I’m here trying hard to stay with you.
You’re always here, no matter what,
It’s just hard to remember that.
