Here is how to understand : Salvation.

1.) SALVATION.

Salvation is a few things.........

Redemption

The Blood Atonement

Regeneration.

God's Grace

Eternal Life

A Gift

Now, look at this that im about to show you, and SEE IT.... = spiritually.

LIsten.....
If you see salvation as you doing it and you trying not to lose it, then Jesus has no part in YOUR salvation.

If you see Salvation only as Jesus, then you have understood it correctly.

Look here.....

What is Eternal life? = Its JESUS

What is Redemption? = Its JESUS

What is the Blood Atonement? = Its JESUS

What is God's Grace? = Its JESUS.

What is Salvation? = Its JESUS

Its not you.
So, to understand your Salvation, is to understand who Jesus is, and What Jesus has done for you.

Now, the self righteous who is trying to work their way into heaven, will say......"now wait, what about me "presenting my body a living sacrifice, and what about me carrying my cross, and what about me keeping all those commandments, and that water baptism...".

Well, what about it?
What about it ?????????
That is not your Salvation, that is your........................discipleship.

See it?
See the DIFFERENCE?

Salvation is JESUS, and what He has provided for you as "the gift of Salvation"
Discipleship is how you behave AFTER you are SAVED by Jesus, and God's Gift of Salvation.
They are NOT the same.

If you understand this and believe it, then you understand : "the finished work of Jesus on the Cross".
If you do not, then you do not yet understand what it means to be Saved.

and that water baptism
That water baptism is a fundament requirement for salvation along with the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Water baptism is putting repentance and faith into action > a good conscience towards the commandments of God.

That's Catholic or Jehovah's Witness Theology, as both of these teach that "water" is salvation.....>"Baptismal regeneration" or...the deception that water has magic power to save you and wash away your sin.
However, God has a different idea, ... He said that its ONLY = the Blood of Jesus is what takes care of Sin.

Think of it like this, Waggles.. Water only touches your body, it cannot touch your spirit. So, to be born again is a Spiritual situation that WATER cannot impart.

Also, ....In Heaven, you have Jesus, and Paul, and the Spirits of all the born again, and you have "The dying Thief".
Remember him, Waggles?
He died next to Christ on the Cross.
Notice that the dying thief.was not water baptized.
So, if water is required, as the Catholics and the Jehovah's Witness, TEACH, then when you get to heaven, (if you are born again)...... then you can let the Dying Thief explain to you why water is water, and nothing more.

Another way to think of salvation..

Salvation has a Cross and a Savior on it.

Nothing else need apply, as nothing else died for your sin.

"well what about Mary, and Water, and my good works".

If those are the Cross and the Blood of God, who is Jesus on the Cross, then go with it.
If not.
Then not.

Good grief - that is not what the scriptures teach.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, Amen, Amen, I say unto thee, Except one be born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born being an old man? can he enter a second time into the womb of his mother, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Amen, Amen, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 What is born of the flesh is flesh; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born from above.
8 The Spirit breatheth where he willeth, and thou hearest his voice, but knowest not whence he cometh, and whither he goeth: so is every one born of the Spirit.

Acts 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized each of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.
40 And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this crooked generation.
41 They then that received his word were baptized: and in that day were added about three thousand souls.

Colossians 2:11 in whom ye were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of the Christ;
12 having been buried with him in baptism, wherein ye were also raised with him through the faith of the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Hebrews 6:1 Wherefore leaving the word of the beginning of the Christ, let us be borne on unto the perfection; not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,-
2 the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Good grief -
2 the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Let me show you the "good grief"..

You posted regarding the "teaching of baptisms", which is WATER......and this verse explains that all this is NEEDLESS, USELESS, and do not go back to that...

Yet you did,

= Good grief.

Isn't it amazing that so many who live on forums, walk right past the blood of Jesus, never talk about it, never post about it, never think about it, never give it honor or praise,..... but they can surely rant about WATER WATER WATER, day and night.

The blood of Jesus - the Lamb of God - did nail our trespasses to the cross
BUT in order for a "believer" to avail themselves to grace and mercy through Christ Jesus they must be obedient to the commandments of God.
And the commandments of God concerning the NT are pretty simple
repentance
water baptism by full immersion confessing one's faith for the forgiveness of sins
the baptism of the Holy Spirit which a believer must desire and ask for so that God can make his abode within a true worshipper.

Acts 19:3 And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into the baptism of John.
4 And Paul said, John baptized a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe unto him that should come after him, that is, unto Jesus.
5 And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

Reader..

if the commandments, the 10 or the 2 from Jesus .......could save you, redeem you, justify you or give you eternal life, then Jesus could have stayed in Heaven and saved Himself a lot of pain and torture.

You need to understand something.
Its this.
ONLY what can give you the new Birth, has the power to save you,
This means that what CAN'T do that, is not able to save you or keep you saved.

Common sense tells you, that what saves you is what keeps you saved, and what can't save you, can't keep you saved.

What is that, which can't save you or keep you saved?

WATER
LAW
DEEDS
WORKS
Commandments

Listen...
Can commandment keeping and good deed doing, and works.............can any of this save you?
NO.
If water could save you...... then Jesus didn't have to DIE FOR YOU.

So, dont add these to the Cross, as you are doing.
They do not belong there, and it offends God when there is teaching that tries to supplement or add to, the Blood of Jesus.
Don't be that one.,,, or you end up here........ Galatians 1:8
