About Bi-curiousity

Matthew 5:28

1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,

Just a moment there! It seems to me that your bible might not be up to snuff in its translations. As a Classics student, I know it is difficult to convey all the different meanings of a word without a direct equivalent in english. Homosexuals nor sodomites, however, does not capture any of the greek words' meaning. homosexuals, as you render it, actually refers specifically to boy prostitutes. Sodomites, likewise, specifically refers to men who use such prostitutes. It is in paralell with his other prohibitions on material immorality (you leave out the next verse on theives and the greedy) and the meaning can be cross referenced with several other Pauline passages. Now buying a little boy prostitute is a bit different from homosexuality, don't you think?

Also I'd warrant that rape, for instance, is a worse sexual immorality than sodomy.

Would you be so kind as to point out the scriptures that say that one sin is worse than another?

Tendencies

I was born with a tendency to sin. My sinful nature desired sex, material things, selfishness, and many other sins. Jesus said that if you lust after someone you've already commited adultery in your heart. I've definitely done that. However, I was wrong to commit those sins.

Is homosexuality a sin? Of course it is. So is lust, drunkenness, hatred, failure to observe the sabbath, etc... It is not right to declare legal what God has deemed wrong. Do not try to justify sinful behavior. Rather, repent of your sins and ask God for mercy and guidance.

May God guide you in this struggle.

Re: About Bi-curiosity

I have a question lets say a women or man is a christian ok and goes through phases where they might think they might be Bi-sexual.But they never acted on it at all and wants to maintain thier hetersexual lifestyle despite their curiousity in Bi-sexuality.Would it be a sin to role-play on the computer (not forming any Bi relationship just RP),or daydream about it.If it kept the person from being tempted to try or get involved in the Bi-sexual lifestyle?.And if was would God punish :lightning this individual for their weakness. I know he is a forgiving God but I am asking all the same.

Role playing on a computer or daydreaming about it will not keep a person from decending into the pit of bi-sexual living. One may be able to fend off the act for days, weeks, months, or even years. But, the temptation will grow in strength and the person's willpower will be gradually weakened to the point that resistance vanishes.

While Jesus' words in Matthew 5:28 refer specifically to adulterous thinking by a man toward a woman, lust, by definition, is not limited to man-woman or woman-man situations and to entertain adulterous sexual thoughts is sin whether they are heterosexual, bi-sexual, or homosexual in nature.

God be with you Sister ,my question to you is the fight of "good over evil".We have "under cover Cops" they are fighting this evil..is this right of them to do it this way?..i say this as i have put myself in that position to try and make people i meet come over to the good side..am i doing this in the right way???.I am trying to be a good Christian but fail on many levels .I feel that i go the extra mile if i put myself in the fire to change and to help save another person..as God sacrificed his only son for our sins..i feel i must go that extra mile to do the same..i have had failed marriages..been ridiculed at work as different, drink to much, but still keeping the faith..it doesent worry me.im just trying in my way to be what we are supposed to be....May God Bless us all....

The point is that no matter bow good you are you are not justified before god. Since Christ's foregiveness is infinite, there's not much point in ranking sins. This does not create a relatavism of evil, however. The law of moses, handed down from god, recognizes that murder is worse than theft.
