Are We Family or Not?

I went to a certain church; I attended every Sunday. They called me sister every Sunday. I had become homeless. I had no money and no food. One woman knew of my situation because she asked and I told her. However, she never offered me a place to stay or even a blanket; it was very cold. The Holy Spirit continues to use the error of others to teach me the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

If that had been her sister, daughter or brother's wife; would she have... turned them back into the freezing temps? I tell you NO! She would have taken them in. The world loves their own. Many speak with their lips, but their heart is far from Him. He told us to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. No greater love hath a man than he that will lay down his life for his friend; brother, sister, son, daughter, mother, father, neighbor...

Are we family or not? I was turned back to the freezing temps because she did not know me; as far as knowing a physical, carnal, blood genealogy. Wait... you call me sister, but treat me like a stranger! As Jesus said; You do not know me, because you do not know Him who sent me. Amen. We are bound by the Blood of One; being fitly joined together in unity by One; a spiritual genealogy that surpasses all carnal and physical genealogy. I forgive you; now REPENT!!!!

My woman friend said she had been praying for me one day; and she had gotten a Word from the Lord. She thought the Word she had gotten was for me; but it was indeed for her. She said, "When Jesus is all that is left; that is a good place to be." Yes ma'am, it sure is a good place to be; because I will be with Him where He is. I will not need a blanket to cover me from the cold, or a roof to shelter me from the rain; I will not need a meal or a drink of cool water; You would have let me to freeze to death, rather than show love and compassion for your sister; so God took me from you all.

I love and miss those people, in this certain church very much. I miss the praise and worship leaders; they sang from the heart and the Spirit so alive. They were very receiving of me; unlike the one that drag me off the throne of grace washing God's feet with my tears, for them; they wanted to hear more and live and grow. They are not self righteous, nor high minded. They are real with God and with each other. We all are faced with short comings; and the way to Life, is acknowledging the death we have walked through. Repent of it, allow God to perfect that part within us and pick up our cross and follow Him. He is the Potter, we are the clay. We only grow in Him; when one will speak forth what the Spirit is saying unto the churches. Amen.

All praise, glory and honor be to God.

Truth!!!! Amen!!!
What I see is that people are afraid.

Obey what the Lord has set us to do, and He will provide the means and the way.
Don't be afraid!
Whether you are being blessed to receive or blessed to give, allow yourself to be open for use by Holy Spirit within us!
Don't be afraid!
Our Lord has overcome the World!
Don't be afraid!

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
How much more for a brother or sister in Christ?

Zechariah 7:9-10 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: [10] And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

Too often we do not see Christ in each other!
Colossians 3:23-24 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Luke 3:11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

We could go on and on and on in His word to us for charity, which is also love.
Yet, I sense that it is fear rather than obedience and love which fills the heart of many.
May the Holy Spirit spark revival not only with the spreading of His Word, but the doing of it as well!

As you have said.
All praise, honor, and glory to God!

Dear sister. I read this to someone at work (hope you don't mind), and he wanted me to send it to him.
I told him, I would only do so with your permission.
May I use this posting to share with others?
Thank-you

Amen sister! but not all believers are like that. The Church is made up of many souls who are at various stages of growth and sanctification. I hope that you will find it in your heart to forgive her and I hope that God will show her "his way" in dealing with the knowledge you have given her. The knowledge that described your present situation. Praying that God provides your needs according to his riches in glory and praying that she will not miss this opportunity to bless one of his little ones again...

Sadly, I think this is the case much of the time.
Almost certainly to varying degree's we have all experienced this
And equally we have all probably been 'guilty' of not offering what we have when someone is in need On the other side
During times of need it can be so easy to look at people who have a lot, and to start to feel envious and angry if people don't offer assistance
On the other side it can be just as easy to hold onto our possessions and finances rather than to help others

O Lord may we we all seek to live and love like Jesus....taking no thought for self

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
Philippians 4:11-14

But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Philippians 4:19-20

I agree with your assessment of many in the church who live for Christ with the focus on personal needs above and beyond the needs of others. They often only have faith in the hopes that God will bless them for it, and they often forget the second greatest commandment.

But.... there have been times the Holy Spirit has told "NOT" to help someone who calls themselves christian. Why would this happen? Its because sometimes they are the younger brother (sister) in the parable of the man with the two sons, one who asked for his part of his inheritance and spends it lavishly. If I had helped them, they would never had the hard times and the wisdom from it to return to the Father in humility. Now, its rare this happens in my life, but it does happen. A person who calls themselves christian and treats others as if they are someone to con out of money or material needs.....well I am sure everyone knows the story of the boy who cried wolf.

It's really not about what someone does with the blessing they receive but that giving is done with the right heart according to the word of God. God knows every situation and we can do our part by responding in faith. Very much like a free will offering or tithe ~ I am not going to ask the Pastor what he's going to do with the money in the collection plate because I am trusting God that it will be used appropriately. Advice can be helpful but we also need to consider going that extra mile when we are aware of someones situation, if we have the opportunity to do so.

the ones closest to you can do the most harm : in the story of the good samaritan as others walked by one stopped and helped so id say two to one is the chance of them helping you ..its a sad state to see Gods people having a glory party while many dont have the Glory of God in thier lives ..so make sure when you see it you change it ! help those who need it ! give hope to those who have none! let the feeling you have for this keep you from being the same as those who you now question..........hold no grudges but instaed heal and bind the wounds of others around you who may have fallen in the ditch...Rev

Glory be to God; great fellowship.
I do not hold a grudge against any; yes, I forgive here as I said in my OP.
I didn't walk away silent and say nothing like most would do.
We grow when we are corrected.
The churches are full of sin and it is never confronted; because people have respect for persons (may hurt their feelings, you know, so we just shut up and don't say anything). This is an error and has gone on for so long now.
When we have respector of persons, we sin against God. Amen
Speak the Word of truth, love your family more than yourself, and always put God first. Amen.
Fear robs us of the blessings the Lord has for us. Amen

I asked them for nothing; a woman asked me and I told her. She left me in the cold anyway.
She had the means to take me in, but did not, because I was a stranger, not a person of immediate family.
You call me sister, but treat me as a stranger; we do greatly error. Either we believe the Word of God or we don't.
Be doers of the Word, not hearers only.
We are family bound of a spiritual genealogy by the Blood of the Lamb. Amen.
Now, are we still a carnal people (the world loves their own) or spiritual people (the love and compassion of Christ)?
All praise, glory and honor be to God. Amen

Indeed, the tree is known by its fruit. And we are indeed to help others, even more so our brothers and sisters. But I have probably just had more experience with those who call themselves christians, attend church regularly, and like to take advantage of others. Perhaps you are blessed to have never experienced this. Just so you know, I wasnt saying you were this way, just warning readers to be aware of this while helping others.

I enjoyed reading your post @rag4aCrown It was full of truth and conviction. Refreshing. As difficult as it may be in some circumstances, we must carry each other's burdens and make sacrifices when necessary. Christ lives an example of complete selflessness and the ultimate sacrifice of love on Calvary.

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

Proverbs 28:27
Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.

crazy phone, sorry guys for the three quotes with nothing there, i dont know how to remove the error. will one of the admins clean up the thread along with this post too. please. thank you

Sister rag4aCrown, I know the pains of being homeless, was this way myself for a little under 3 years. I like you,did not know why I was discarded by others either? It did not make any sense to me!( 1 cor 4:10-16) In time as you are learning, I also learned this.It is not the situation that can be as bad as ones own mindset given by others. later on, and hopefully sooner rather then later the Lord, as always, will bring you through this very difficult trial, and from what you have learned being in such a tough position, will last the rest of your life! Never again will you look, not that you ever did sis,but you will see past what no one else chooses to see,the eternal! For where you are now is only temporal!( 2 cor 4:7-18). Of course my prayers are for you and with you,and when you have endured to see his will ( heb 10:36) through this, you, like I was will be rescued.( 1 cor 10:13) The way of escape is near, even in thy own lips. Blessing always to you sis!!( psalm 27:13) We sure LOVE YOU!!! amen!

my dear; please share this teaching with anyone that will hear and receive it. God has freely given it to me, and I freely give it to you. Everything I go through is to teach and testify to others, in Him, by Him, for Him. Amen. Blessings to you dear one.

Brothers and Sisters;
Thank you for such amazing fellowship and encouraging support. Everything I go through is for Him; and then I am to bring the revelation to the table for all to feast upon. We must be willing to suffer with Him, in Him, by Him, for Him; knowing God is in control of every situation we may endure. Not that I am strong in Him, but that He is strong in me (us). Amen. The Lord has not forsaken me, nor left me; He is always and forever with me. I had to endure this time to be an asset to God and teach others what God taught me while going through it. He says, What I have given you in darkness, speak ye in light. What you have heard in your ear, preach from the rooftops. Amen. God is doing His job, He is faithful to serve us with the truth; however, when we just walk away and speak nothing are we being faithful to serve God? and our lost brother or sister that has fallen by the way side. If the truth would not have been spoken forth, they could have easily died in sin. We say we are a child of God; but does our fruits reflect a child of God? Are we still being just as self centered and high minded as the rest of the world? I pray not. The churches of this world are under judgment, they have been since they hang Jesus on the tree, and judgment is rising against them. How will you fair when God sends His chosen vessels into your church? There is nothing malicious in our hearts. We stand in all good conscience with God. And, we speak the truth in Him, by Him, for Him. Amen. There is a great awakening going on around the world. Praise God. If we have done it to one we consider least among us, we have done it unto God. God is all and in you all. Amen. Just think, because He lives in me, and I am in Him, she turned the one she says she loves, out to the freezing temps, and didn't as much as throw Him a blanket. My sister was in great error; she spoke one thing, but did the right opposite; she did what the world does (love their own). I love this woman very much; yes, she is my sister. I love her enough to tell her of her error. Amen. Do you love your brothers and sisters IN CHRIST (spiritual genealogy) enough to correct them in their error? Yes, they may want to fight, if they are a carnal fleshly creature, but the seed has been planted and God will increase that seed. If there is no peace in the house (the body), fear not, God will return your peace to you. This is the greatest war of all time; their is a spiritual war going on, and it is heightening. Do we have our armor on? Have we allowed God to properly cloth us? We have to go through birthing pains of being in turmoils, afflictions, persecutions, being falsely accused, called names, even death... for the Lord to properly cloth His vessel. He is the Potter, we are the clay. Amen. It is time to rise up off of our comfortable pews and speak the Word of truth. Amen.
All praise, glory and honor be to God. Amen.

We never come into wisdom and understanding by revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ, until we have walked in the same steps of His Word. We must go through it and endure it (just as Jesus did), to properly understand and grow in God; this allows God to dress us, properly; for we are not able to properly dress ourselves sitting comfortable on our pew; least we think we have known the mind of God and we come to think more of ourselves than we ought to think. God forbid. This has been going on long enough. Amen. May the Spirit of God and His glory rest upon and be within you all. Amen.

For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me." Matt 25:42-45

While these verses speaks most definitely to the spiritual side such as when Peter said, "silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I...", for a believer to bypass the physical needs without a clear directive from God should raise some serious questions in the heart/mind of that believer. Should we ever be so empty of that which is beyond our "silver and gold" that we are unable to provide whatever we have?

"And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living." Mark 12:42-44

Thank you sister for sharing this personal experience. As others have said, not everyone is like that "friend" who asked about you situation, but seemingly had nothing to give. I have been on both ends of that situation and too often I have had the wrong answer in both places. Let us pray that God will help all of here who have read what you wrote to take to heart the message from God in it...

Give God the glory!

I sure know the weight of not forgiving in my own life! It is a most heavy weight!!( heb 12:1) Those who should become heavy with this weight are never burdened down with it,only those who wish to carry such a heavy weight, like I was! I was told by so many to just let it go,easy when it is not you caring it! But that is the point they were making!( matt 11:28-30) For this is the LOVE of God and his commandments are not burdensome ( 1 john 5:3-5!!)( john 13:34-35) because we no longer carry them! We just follow in them! As his children. And learn how we in love can help another carry there burden,so that each will learn to carry there own load.( gal 6:1-5) From so many examples we all have seen through our life, the picture becomes more and more clear of just how much weight Jesus carried on that cross! He carried ALL of my weight, and yes your weight! And through his death released all this weight to die forever, rising again to never having any more weight, hence why we can meet the Lord in the air!! hehe Blessing all!

No one has even tried to see where the heart of the lady who did not invite you was.
Was she scared from all she had seen and heard on the news in this evil day ?
Has she been harmed from doing such and act in the past ?

Now I ask all of you....What did the lady in question pray that night ? Did her heart cry out to God because it hurt her to not ask one in?
We can all apply scripture and out views and beliefs but until you know the heart of the woman in question all you can do is guess.
I know what it is like to be so cold you want to just die and I know what it is to dig in dumpster for things just to make it.
I also know you can not ever think you know about a person by one single action they did or did not do.
Praise God we are called to walk in Love. Love is a command.
Blessings
Jim
