Sorry, but this makes no sense....It is not your works but that of Jesus work's through you and saved is saved. You say saved by Grace and then you say the level of which is dependent on the works you do, this is a conflict in terms.
Hello RJ.
Through our belief in Jesus Christ, repentance of sins, and baptism, we become saved. However, on the Day of Judgement, our soul will go under fire to purge out whatever is not true. Only what truth and true works will remain. I personally hope to have my soul as whole as possible. 1 Corinthians 3:13-16
13 his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14 If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.
Just believing in Jesus Christ is not enough. Even satan believes in Jesus Christ, but I do not think he has any soul left to be saved.
I believe it is: Ephesians 2:8-9:
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Repentance and a repentant heart is a first fruit of the spirit inside you
Wet or dry, in or out of water, one can be saved...with or without man's works in baptism.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by such grace you have been saved through faith. This does not come from you; it is the gift of God
God appears to be explicit here and that is that a man is saved by grace alone. Since others can't deny this scripture they claim it but add that it requires works from man Like, Tongues or Water Baptism.
Which is it....by Grace alone or by Grace and some form of works by man?
My answer lives in Ephesians 1vs 4-10 We are privileged because God chose us through HisGrace and unmeritedfavor and MOST OF all out of His great love for us. Hallelujah.
For he chose us in himbefore the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his gloriousgrace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, theforgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches ofGod’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us themystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. Amen
Romans 6.23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.,
There is no doubt in my mind that it is here that OUR WORK begins that is after we received the gift of God our water baptism ; and I reiterate after He chose us , this is where the Spirit of God leads us , teaches us, instructs us in the way that we should go , lastly The Holy Spirit then guides us with His Loving Eye. HE PROVIDES THE FIRE AND THE SPIRIT AND WE PROVIDE THE SACRIFICE: AMEN To God be the Glory!!!
Paul goes on to say many times in his letter to Ephesians that we must walk worthy of our calling.
Now I dont know about you but when I walk I put one foot in front of the other following Jesus as I go, and that is not to boast that I do it because its all towards Him. But I still need to walk that way, I can choose not to.
Go through Ephesians and circle how many times Paul beseeches the Ephesians to walk!
Yes we are saved by grace. but it is also THROUGH faith. Grace enables us, faith sustains us.
