Christian Rap?

I agree to Chad... Music is from God ...be it rock, rap, metal, hip hop, pop, heavymetal, punk,..... The only important thing is WHO we sing about!! If Jesus is the theme of your song, you have a wonderful song. Chritianity is not boredom... God has given us variety. I like all kind of music. And though I'm not inclined to rap, I know there are artists whom GOD called out to rap for Him. And there are people who ROCK for the KINGDOM. If you are at the centre of what God has called you to be, nothing compares to it!!

Music is a spiritual experience. You read that the evil spirit left Saul when David, the anointed one of God played the harp. "Music's only purpose is the Glory of God". I didn't say this. Sir John Sebastian Bach, whom the world hailed as the Father of Music quoted this. And by the way, He was a born again Christian believer. And because music is a spiritula experience be adamant that you will never be compromising to listen to secular music. I have seen the hazards of secular music in my life and in the lives of close friends. Christian music is God's gift. Or better to say, music is God's gift so it better be Christian!! And secular music is devil's weapon.

I have heard testimonies of people getting saved and healed being at a LIFE METAL concert (life metal is the christian version of death metal..we talk about life, don't we?). And only a person who is into metal can follow it.

God is well aware of our tastes, liking, inlinations etc. And I believe, as a musician and a music fan, that excellence should flow from the Church. Variety should be the hallmark of the Church. And the world should look up to the Church for wisdom, creativity, ideas, knowledge in all fields. " life in abundance..." applies to everything. For many years, the traditional church closed doors to loud music, whereas in the Bible, especially in Psalm, we read of , cymbals, crashing cymbals, loud cymbals, 10 stringed harps, flutes, trumpets.... all kind of "cacaphony". "Make His prasies LOUD".

When I was in school I used to sign autographs saying - The King of music!! I was a celebrated musician in school. But when I got saved, I realised I was wrong and submitted my music to the glory of the One I met - I met the REAL King of music, rather the King of Kings, The King of all things - JESUS! To Him be the Glory, The Dominion, The Honour and The Power forever and ever. AMEN

hi

personally i love rock, hard rock and rap music and sometimes a bit of hip hop.
but i try not to listen to unGodly music some non christian singer are alright take vanessa carlton (most of u probably havent heard of her lol) but she isnt a christian but her songs are ok because she does not blaspheme or negative to God...she just sings about love and feelings.

take RED they are a hard rock group and are christians...but it all depends on what sort of mood you are in and what you like.

it isn't about the acctualy genre of the music...its about what they people sing about.

Isn't he the one that ripped off that woman's bra during a Super Bowl Half Time Show? He's going to hell

You have some nerves claiming what belongs to GOD alone, judgement. You have no right to determine who is or is not going to hell. That's not your business.

Why would anybody want to listen to Christian lyrics in the form of Rap? I don't get it. To me it just doesn't fit. But, if thousands of Christians can worship and get saved by this ahem, music, then hey, tell me, what am I missing here? It just does not sound good in my ears. :note: :note2:

Peace!

Your brother in Christ Jesus!

I agree with you but in the end I think it is a matter of Music Tastes.

I prefer Classical music and Jazz. Of course I don't mind some modern Pop or Mild Rock, not much though.

I'm showing my age. :embarasse

I gotta disagree Melody, everyone has different tastes in music, so they should be able to listen to what they want to listen to. :)

I love christian rap because It talks about life, happiness, and the most important Jesus christ.

With the tight beats and great lyrics about christ who can say that christian rap is not the way to go. This is just my preference in music, I used to do it too that is listen to worldly music until I got saved. Amen!

God is love, Abraham

Man I'm tryin to lift Him high...... Higher than the stars
[1 Chronicles 29:11, Isaiah 52:13]

I am not of this world like I'm from the planet Mars
[John 17:14]

I love to preach Jesus you can read it in my bars
[Acts 5:42]

I'm pretty straight forward when I'm speaking bout my Lord [2 Timothy 2:15b]

He paid the sin price being beat by Roman guards [Isaiah 52:14b, 53:5, Matthew 27:30, 1 Peter 2:24 ]

But when He resurrected gave us life, free of charge
[Romans 4:25, 1 Thes. 4:14-18, 2 Cor 4:14]

Now me and my boys need to be in a psych ward
Cause we went crazy for God our lives was scarred
[2 Corinthians 5:13]

Now in the Book of Life, our names have been written down[John 3:36]

We're casting our crowns before His feet on the ground
[Rev 4:9-11]

It's such a holy melody and a heavenly sound
Hearing holy holy holy coming out of the mouths
[Isaiah 6:2-3]

Of the four living creatures by His throne all around
[Rev 4:8]

Can you picture the scene this this is how it's going down?

You just need a little faith [1 John 5:10-12] and a new set of eyes and a telescopic lens to look in and see God
I love it!" ['Joyful Noise' BY Flame feat. LeCrae

This is lyrics to a Christian rap song. They are preaching the gospel in their bars. Many people love rap and others dont. Personally before i was a christian all i used to llisten to was hardcore rap. lil wayne, boosie, gucci, tyga, if any of you are familiar with these artists they are not the best to listen to. Christian rap had a lot to do with me becoming a christian and i thank the Lord there are people out there that are making music that people can relate with there culture.
To each is own, some like it some dont. If its glorifying the Lord thats all that matters. Praise be to God.

Your sis,
Ginah
