Amen! Thanks everyone for the suggestions. A nice long list that will keep me busy investigating.

For GOD's glory, I will confirm to everyone here that your responses is due to GOD answering my prayers of recently. The prayer that GOD will show me great worship music to replace the secular stuff I listen to.

Thanks!

i'm the same. i still listen to bands like linkin park and seether because of the sheer genius of the music, but i prefer to listen to bands like skillet, pillar, kutless, hawk nelson, 3rd day, day of fire.. etc. but if you want some really heavy music and amazing lyrics, try Demon Hunter... those guys are amazing!!!

Another Hard-rock Christian Band is RED...some of my favorite songs of RED are "Breathe Into Me", "Already Over", "Never Be The Same" & "Let Go".

A Christian rapper that really all his lyrics go straight back to the bible is LeCrae...Lecrae tends to go after the things that everyone is telling you you need to have (i.e. clothes, money, girls {or guys}, or even love). He comes straight across without metaphors and lets you know how it really is. Some of my favorite songs of LeCrae are "Beautiful Feet", "Live Free, "Fall Back", "Desperate" & "Truth".

Kutless is a Christian rock group. I'm kinda a new fan of theirs (after seeing them in concert with Casting Crowns), they have got high energy, and I've been listening to their songs alot recently. Right some of my fave songs of theirs is, "I'm Still Yours", (that song really gets my thinking), "Hearts Of The Innocent", "Beyond The Surface" & "Million Dollar Man".

Another hard rock Christian band that I like is Flyleaf... The songs I like the most is Again, Cassie, I'm So Sick, and Fully Alive...

My favorites go in spurts but my NEW favorite cd is...

Orphan Project - Spooning Out The Sea.

My latest favs were.....Mastedon/John Elefante, Kutless, Skillet, Fireflight, Circleslide, Downhere, Jonah33, Plumb, Switchfoot, Stryper, Third day, Theocracy, Bride, Holy Soldier, Barren Cross, Whitecross, etc...

Check out Orphan Project - Spooning Out The Sea

Awesome cd!!

I haven't read the whole thread chad but if you liked GNR then check out Bride.

Bride = GNR
Saint = Judas Priest
Sacred Warrior = Queensryche
X-Sinner = AC/DC
Narnia = Yngwie Malmsteen

There's so much good christian rock nowadays its hard to choose, back in the 80's all i knew of was Stryper and Petra, i'm sure there was more but i wasn't looking for it either.

I've replaced my 3,000 secular metal cd collection with about 1,000 christian rock cd's in the last 18 years. I don't miss the garbage anymore :)

If you're into more complex, proggier stuff, Neal Morse has put out some -great- albums since becoming a solo artist and being born again. As I told a friend, he's made religious music so artful that I, as an atheist, can appreciate it. Sola Scriptura (his concept album about Martin Luther) and ? (concept album about the evolving idea of the Tabernacle and the presence of God; yes, the title is a question mark) are his best. He's done some praise-and-worship stuff.

And I have to say I respect him as an artist. He basically cut his audience in half when he openly declared his religious proclivities and left his old band (Spock's Beard) in 2002.

Specific songs worth checking out are "In the Fire" and "The Temple of the Living God" from ?, "The Prince of the Power of the Air" from Testimony, "The Man's Gone" and "Help Me/The Spirit and the Flesh" from One.

Sola Scriptura's hard to give recommendations from, because three of the four songs on the album hover near or longer than 20 minutes in length. They're good, though. And in fact, I thought of him when you mentioned being a GNR fan because the voice he uses for Pope Julius II in "The Conflict" off that album is eerily similar to Axl Rose's voice.

Does anyone here enjoy Audio Adrenaline? I have to be honest, I have not read the whole thread...so I may be asking a silly question?! They had a funky rock vibe going, I loved their tracks "Man of God" "Chevette" and "Some kind of Zombie"...some real feel good music!
Harder stuff that I used to listen to in the nineties came courtesy of a band called Grammatrain. 'Lonely House' was the album name I think...some pretty deep and angsty music! But, I am led to believe they split due to a band member no longer being a Christian? Not sure what the story is, but their CD was pretty cool at the time!

Although I may be very incorrect with the next statement, I seem to remember reading that the former lead singer of the band LIVE, Ed Kowalczyk has become a born again christian. (I hope this is true, as I am a big fan) His latest stuff is very christianly spiritual!! (if there is such a statement?!) "Zion" is rather deep...and it takes a little getting used to the voice behind "I Alone" now singing about God!! But its cool regardless!!
Third Day are in my opinion the benchmark when it comes to modern christian music...they are just so anointed. When their first CD came out I originally thought I was listening to Pearl Jam! But, they quickly established their own sound, and I think that was their best move!
