Christianity and prepping

We think too many people have their heads stuck in the sand, thinking the government will ride in on their white chargers to rescue them.

I have felt the same as well. It has turned out to be a "What can my country do for me" situation it seems.
I am somewhat of a prepper. Stocking up things such as dry goods and medical items. I feel as if I need to do this as well, as the Bible tells us to be prepared and to also watch for signs.
I would like to mention that I am a christian, I do believe God will provide for me, but I do not feel as though I should sit on my rear and wait for God to provide for me, without me first doing something to prepare myself as well.

I think that is true, Lookup. I cannot quote where it is in the Bible, but isn't there a verse that talks about a farmer expecting a crop when he hasn't planted, that it is foolishness?

Just a question for you ~ are you putting aside water, also??

Cast Iron pots to boil water over a wood fire and for cooking when camping is a good Idea. Also portable water filtration equipment is also a good idea.

This 3 page and running conversation about Christians needing to stockpile food for some future calamity is missing something.

The cries of the hungry and destitute have reached the throne of God, and are filling His ears today...and not a single one of us is promised tomorrow...

Do you suppose Christ will say "Come you blessed..for I was hungry and you PLANNED to feed me...tomorrow"

The frantic call for the people of God to get busy "prepping" is just fear hiding its devilish face behind the guise of good intentions.

It is not the voice of God that is behind such fear mongering, regardless of what mans mouth is speaking them. Does any man think he is a prophet regarding this matter? Let him first check the weight of his words on Gods scale before he checks the weight of his food...he will find his words are as weightless as hot air.

The God of Moses, who provided food and water for the Israelite`s for 40 years in a desert wasteland, is still able to feed His people in times of calamity. If this not be so, and we all die of starvation...tomorrow... then I guess we can gladly run into His arms shouting "I had nothing to cling to in life, and nothing to cling to in death, but you!"
