Ok so ive done a little more research and your right there are no specific scriptures that say you can lose the holy spirit there are a few that seem to imply you can give it back but that is only based on assumptions and is therefore not scriptural, and i have always agreed that a born again Christian cannot be possessed, i simply put forth the idea that you can lose the holy spirit which i have now been corrected on you cannot lose it or have it taken away, but as mentioned above you yourself may give it back the lord gave us free will, so it stands to reason that if for some insane reason someone no longer wanted the holy spirit in their heart then the Lord would break the seal and the holy spirit would depart, God would not stay against your free will which he gave you otherwise he would be contradicting himself so i still believe it is possible as anything is possible for the Lord but i cant see it happening

That being said you may not be able to lose the holy spirit therefore you also will not be able to be possessed but you can neglect and as mentioned before grieve it which can have some potentially devastating consequences Again according to matthew 7:22-23 you can be born again and have the holy spirit within you which i believe is required to have the authority to cast out demons(acts 19:13-16) but if you practice lawlessness then you can still lose out on your salvation and not make it into heaven some more scriptures to verify this are:

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. For the earth which brings in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God; but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.” (Hebrews 6:4-8)
“For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” (2 Peter 2:20)
“You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” (Galations 5:4)
and ovcourse you can have your name recorded in the book of life(being born again) but if you do not repent and seek the Lord and his will for you life then you are in danger of being blotted out “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not BLOT OUT his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” (Revelation 3:5)

So again even if you have the holy spirit and cannot be possessed you can suffer a worse fate than being possessed if you do not repent and turn away from your sins and continually try and seek the Lord and his will for your life then you may be in danger of losing your salvation even if you dont lose the holy spirit, if you dont give the holy spirit the proper pre-eminence and dominance in your life and dont walk in the authority it gives and you neglect it and grieve it then you are in danger of rendering it useless, except ovcourse in the cases of it protecting you and trying to hold you accountable

Mention Jesus name as many as possible like or as if you are stabbing the demon by the Lord Jesus name. Do the praying as soon as possible, dont wait until you can no longer know that you have to pray:ray and fight.

and no man could ever pluck you from Gods hand but it doesn't say you can't jump out by yourself, and the other scripture says we have to obtain our predestined inheritance so doesn't that imply that we can either not obtain it or let go of that inheritance?

It is obtained by believing the Gospel. Since they and we are all the elect.

And how can elect become not elected afterwards?

i dont think we God's sheep can truly go away from God permanetely but God always like a sheaphard finds his lost sheep.

The people in (Hebrews 6:4-8) arent born again believers. Thats why they "Fall away".

They did not believe in onetime sacrafice of Jesus and hence "crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame."

Also Bible says born again dont go away:

1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

same thing in (2 Peter 2:20) i believe.


(Galations 5:4) Is actually reference to the fact the galatians started using acts of law to justify them self. It doesnt say they loosed their salvation, they just werent in grace anymore as they tried to justify them self.

Talks about overcoming, that happens only by with Blood of Christ:

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

1Jn 2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

And this is what we have done... By believing in Jesus and in His sacrafice for us.

Whether it be demonic possession or demonic oppression, it all boils down to free will. You can speak in tongues all you want, heal the sick and drive out demons yourself. If a person who is born again uses his free will to lay in bed with the devil, that seed can only give birth to destruction.

Romans 6:16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?


Its a tricky subject and many of our opinions were pass down to us and also influenced by hellywood. People open doors in their lives and they're not aware of it , you can only have 1 master, there's only one God. The minute a christian starts submitting their bodies to false Gods, doctrines, denominations they're in a danger zone. If you're no longer living in truth..who's living in you ? Our journey have always been free will. If a Christian decides to sleep with the devil they're going to. The anti-christ is in the church so I'm no longer surprise when I hear about christians being oppress or possess.

Christians need to know they can't be lazy and sit with their gift of salvation and think life is going to be easy, or that all is well. The devil already have the world, he wants the church. It's not by chance he choose judas and entered him Luke 22:3 . Its a perfect illustration of him working within the body of Christ. Judas is not like the satanic mongrels that show no remorse when they desecrate the name of Jesus. Judas still had a conscience, Matthew 27:3.
The church need to be watchful, the devil wants your kids, they can attend all the rallys they want if they are in bondage you'll never know until those fruits are ripe.

I disagree. Judas didn't have the Spirit of God as it was pre-pentecost (John 7:39). Please don't offend the body of Christ. It is impossible for a true born again Christian to be possessed by Satan. When I say 'born again', this is indicated by the fact that the person can speak in tongues, amongst many other gifts.

Mrs. Moore asked if she wanted that thing cast out of her, and the women just yelled.. No... No.... and screamed some more... She was removed.

I had a born again believe get involved with a Witch.. he started to date her, and soon became very mentally ill........ he got so bad he became homeless and talked nothing but gibberish.. when I ran into him, he was screaming... Satan is Lord.. NO!! Jesus is my Lord as he did every night at the homeless shelter..

When God asked me to deal with that spirit, I just walked up and grabbed the man, telling him to look at me, and I said.. Devil, I bind you now, and be quit in the name of Jesus.. The man regained all senses, and started to cry, saying.. "The Monster is gone.. The monster is gone.."

I later found out he was a Christian, Was Spirit filled and had done something he knew the Lord had told him no, over and over.. do not get involved with that girl....

So, whatever Terms people want to use.. Believers can give a place to the devil so strong it effects their actions and thinking.. Call it Oppression or possession, their actions are the same... confused, trapped, and need to take the Word, and resist.. and obey God.

It seems that in the Bible passages you referred to, the people were not actually bornagain believers but believers of some sort.

I Agree with mike while a born again Christian may not be able to be possessed he can still give a place to satan/demons, the demon will never be able to tie up and take over the strong man in your house but that doesnt mean he cant run around the house creating havok.

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 so if you dont resist the devil then guess what he wont flee and you have just given place to him, and again and again, “Not every one that saith unto me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven….Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works?’ And then will I profess unto them, ‘I never knew you - depart from me, ye that work iniquity.’” Matthew 7:21-23 in this passage Jesus Clearly states that you must do the will of the Father in Heaven to enter the Kingdom, and if you dont strive to do his will then he says Depart from me, ye that work iniquity, and to be able to work iniquity you have to have some place for the devil in your life for if you give God all the authority and all the dominance and there is no room except for God in yourself and your life was completely and fully his then you would no longer be able to sin. And yes Matthew 7 is talking about BORN AGAIN Christians they would not have the authority to cast out demons in the name of Jesus if they did not have Jesus within them as demonstrated in Acts 19:11-16

Judas had this authority too.

Did he believe in Jesus? No, not in sense we do, as our saviour. Did he call him Lord? Yes. And then He betrayed Him.
