Sometimes I do, but I usually just pray what is on my heart. I find myself talking to God all day, I dont know if you would call that praying or what.

I pray the Lord's prayer three or four times weekly with the group at the conclusion of AA meetings. Other than that, I never pray it.

My study Bible says that what we call "The Lord's Prayer" would be more accurately called "The Disciples' Prayer", as the Lord gave it to them as a prayer model. I don't believe Jesus never intended it to be prayed verbatim.

I agree with SLE it is an instruction on prayer and it is much more beneficial to study and learn from it on how to pray then to just recite what is written. I think to just recite what is written would qualify it as rehearsed and or repetitive prayer.

Me too. I think its the 'groaning of the Spirit' or just silent prayers perhaps. Its a great thing, because it reminds me that I do talk to GOD often, moreso than I realize.

Amen, I agree too.

Matthew 6:7
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

When i get nervous or frightened by something i just keep saying the prayer over and over untill my fear has gone it works

That Cliff Richards song is very good, I like it alot.

Yes, I say the Our Father, quite often, for many of the same reasons others have posted here, so I voted "yes".

Jesus is Lord

I have to say, yes, almost every morning before I do my personal prayer. Also when I'm troubled, before I read scripture. I love it.
I usually end my prayer sessions with " The Lord is my Shepherd ".

It may seem routine but it just comes natural when I'm in my pray closet.
As a child my mom would make us say it at night and, the morning, so it's implanted.

It doesn't matter how many times we say it, God looks at our hearts to see if it's being said sincerely.

I say the Lord's payer occassionally. I was taught that it is an example of the format we should take as Christains to pray to God.

We also sing it at church sometimes.

Yup I do

Yes I say that prayer quite often and have recieved answers to my prayers sometimes in ways I don't expect but he answers all the same in his own way..his will be done
