SignUp Now!Phoebe (a woman) was a "deacon" in the Church of Cenchrea.
Rom 16:1 With this letter I'm introducing Phoebe to you. She is our sister in the Christian faith and a deacon of the church in the city of Cenchrea. (GW)

It is used several times unrelated to the position of "deacon."
History tells us that Phebe was a business woman who was of great value to the Church at Cenchrea.
Paul asks the Church at Rome "that you assist her in whatsoever business she has need of you."
It does not mean she was a "deacon" of the Church at Cenchrea.
Some years ago our Church had a major construction project. The pastor came to me because of my many years of supervisory experience, to oversee this project communicating to the pastor and the deacons what was taking place.
I gladly took on this project. I'm not a deacon, I'm just a servant of the Church as was Phebe, willing to do whatever I could do for my Lord.

diákonos; gen. diakónou, masc., fem. noun. A minister, servant, deacon.
Charlie Surely you know that the bible does not say that the woman is the weaker vessel. That has nothing to do with the woman being the weaker vessel.
um....Your point? Mesogeny? Can't have women without "men".
Can't have Amen without "men".
Yes, Jesus appeared to wo"men".
Maybe you should tell that to God...Maybe He doesn't know its out of His willYou can define preaching any way you like, that's ok. I'm saying that Christ sending Mary Magdalene to tell the men that Christ has risen does not make her a pastor of the Church or give her any authority over man.
You're talking about teaching and preaching outside the appointed office of the Church. I'm talking about the appointed office of pastor inside the Church as Paul gave instructions.
These women who call themselves pastors are not in the will of God, and have stepped out of their role and place in the Church.
It's "misogyny".um....Your point? Mesogeny?
misogyny...Mesogeny Whatever You knew what I was trying to say....I told you above that I was making typos because of declining health....Thanks for thatIt's "misogyny".
More proof of the order of things.
God - Man - Woman.
Imagine a pastor being WRONG on something and then having to correct himself to the church and for recent years online. It is a VERY hard positionI don't recall that and it wasn't an insult.
Correcting someone in that plus an insult is.
Back on topic. God is NOT misogynistic. The requirements for pastor/preacher/teacher are NOT mysogynistic.
No?
Not a good moral example but Hooters waitresses are women and rarely will you find a man seat and take your order. VERY rarely. The whole purpose of that business is cheap, bad food and women dressed like ***** and prostitutes.
Women's only sports? Men's only sports? We are built differently and in most sports we cannot compete against each other.
So many people find a problem with what God says and through an apostle no less.
Imagine a pastor being WRONG on something and then having to correct himself to the church and for recent years online. It is a VERY hard position.
Last I checked, no Christian can tell God, "I disagree," and will then act in contrary to what He says.
Charlie Surely you know that the bible does not say that the woman is the weaker vessel.
You don't know the Scripture very well my friend.
1 Peter 3:7
"Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered."
You don't know the Scripture very well my friend.
1 Peter 3:7
"Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered."
1 Peter 3:7
7 You husbands, likewise, conduct your married lives with understanding. Although your wife may be weaker physically, you should respect her as a fellow-heir of the gift of Life. If you don’t, your prayers will be blocked.
Being physically weaker does not make her the weaker vessel...I've known men who were weak, several of them, who were propped up by strong women. The women were weaker physically but the men looked like children nonetheless beside the woman
Praying for you Brother!PLease excuse any typos I may make. My coodinadtion is slipping as I decline
LOL and obviously, you do not know womenLOL, you're going to believe whatever you want, not going to argue the obvious fact that women are the weaker vessel.
