Feeling sad

I'll be praying for you. You don't know why you're sad?

Nahum 1:7
"The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him." KJV

There are many days when I am sad and I have no reason for it. I can relate with you brother carlrose.

God bless you

Hi carlrose, how are you doing today? Sometimes I feel sad for seemingly no reason too. :)

God gave us our emotions, and sadness in and of itself is not sin, even though some Christians act like it is.

There is almost always an underlying reason why we are sad. Sometimes when I don't understand what I'm sad about, I pray and ask God to show me. He always does.

God can't help you with what you're sad about until you understand what it is about. He wants you to talk it over with Him. He wants to be your best friend and have an intimate relationship with you. And talking over things that make you sad, matters to your Father.

Being sad in and of itself is not sin. It depends what we do with our sadness. Look at this passage where Jesus' sorrow was so deep that He asked the Father if he could just be lifted out of the sadness.

Matthew 26:36 -39
"Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and He told the disciples, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.

Then He said to them, "My soul is swallowed up in sorrow--to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with Me."

Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, "My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will."

Jesus' best friends, the disciples, weren't there for him. They said they would be, but they really weren't. Often it is like that for us, too.
But Jesus has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us:

Hebrews 13:5b-6 "for He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you or forsake you." Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'

I agree sister Dreamer (great to see you).

Sometimes when I'm sad, it's due to the fact that I'm lonely, but many times it's for no reason. I don't know why, but even if I ask God what I'm sad about, He hasn't given me an answer yet.

There has definitely been times where I just start crying, at an advertisement on television, or some silly part in a movie. I'm always alone when this happens and it's not just a burst of tears, there's thoughts, a range of thoughts and then it starts. This happens very rarely though.

Jesus' sorrow is one of the best, if not the best example to use and thank you for mentioning it. We'll know one day, or even sooner than that, why our emotions aren't in our control at times.

God bless you
Much love
Faithful Son

i get sad sometimes and i really have no idea why?

I try to break the sadness by sitting down and writing out all the wonderful things in my life and then i thank God for all the blessing he has given me. You can be thankful for small things like the stranger that smiled at you in the street, you might have needed that smile. I find this always picks me up.

God Bless

Greetings,

in the last few decades of sometimes feeling sad, i have seen and testify to God's kindness and comfort, His gentleness and faithful love.
Sometimes i even wonder if i ever would have known such love had i not been sad in the first place.
So don't be sad about getting sometimes sad,
it is not bad,
because for those who trust in Jesus,
they will soon be made glad!

My meditation of Him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
Psalm 104:34

Bless you ....><>
