When we forgive someone that has asked us for forgiveness then we are to forgive that person of what he/she did that was wrong.
But as for completely forgetting, that's to me, another thing.
I'm not sure, but I think that GOD doesn't want us to completely forget.
For GOD gave us a memory, to be able to remember right from wrong.
To forget, sometimes, may be impossible, it goes against the way GOD has created us.
So I say, just because we can forgive, and still have memory of the wrong of what the person had done, doesn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing.
As long as we don't dwell on it.
To me, forget is, in a sense to treat this as though it never happened.
Forgive with understanding. To forget is to understand the fact of not dwelling - do not dwell on it.
And in that sense we forgive & forget.
But, always remember PRAYER!
Prayer to our Almighty Father, through our Beloved Savior Christ Jesus is the best way to find your answers.
And I will be praying for you too! *genesis
