Forgiveness

Hi, I'm new here, and I've been reading some of these great posts. I wronged someone sometime back and i have repented and changed my ways, and now am obedient to the Lord. The person i wronged agreed to forgive me, but kept changing their mind about it. I prayed asking the Lord to bless them and give peace of mind, and one fine day they just stopped persecuting me. But now I've become more guilty and i'm on pins not knowing whether they will come for me again. I live on my own, which gives me a lot of time to mull over these things (my pastor who helped me through tough times says i'm overly sensitive and worry my mind unnecessarily). I know the answer is to submit to God and just keep the faith going - but it's not easy as i imagined. There are some days i feel joy and hope, and empty and hopeless the other days. God has always answered nearly all my prayers, but somehow i just don't have the strength - I sometimes feel like i've wronged everyone i know, even people were not involved because they don;t know what i did. Could you please pray that I will be strengthened, or anything i should do further? Thanks and God bless...

Jesus died one time for your sins was buried and then was resurrected to life to give those who believe in this, eternal life now! And God said from His Son's one death, that He will look at your sin no more.

Do you believe in this, then you are forgiven and saved for all times.

If you keep going back and asking for forgiveness, it is like asking God to crucify Jesus again, that is not going to happen!
Your challenge is to put away your worldly ways and ideas and listen to God's word and accept His truth, you are forgiven.

Having this faith in God is to live in the peace of the salvation that you already have. But, if you are even aware of it, and if you are, when you have sinned against someone, ask for their forgiveness, not God's, that He has already given you.

And when you do ask for forgiveness from another, if they are Christian, it is their duty to accept it. If they don't, you are still finished and morally not obligated anymore.

God does not expect you to be in bondage to your forgiveness to another, ask for forgiveness and whether it is received or not, accept it as done and live your life in peace that God loves you, forgives you and gives you eternal life.

Thank you Joe, that helped a lot. I was worrying that maybe i didn't do a good job of asking forgiveness from that person since they did not accept it - and i was also very scared and confused at that time. But i feel i did what i had to do, and i will simply submit to whatever that God has in store for me - painful or joyful. Thanks again, and God bless.

God has nothing but good in store for you, never pain!

What I have to offer is a bit lengthy and I apologize for that, but I know of no other way to explain a biblical truth.

Since my Spiritual Birth, God has put in my heart that most who struggle in this world, even self-proclaiming Christians, because they are living in an untruth, and can even be held in bondage to it.

The Devil is a master at his trade and deception by untruths is one of his best methods. I offer the following verses:

James 1:12

12<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30262A&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference A&quot;>A</a>)">(A) Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30262B&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference B&quot;>B</a>)">(B) the crown of life,<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30262C&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference C&quot;>C</a>)">(C) which God has promised to those who love him.

James 1:2-4

2<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30252A&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference A&quot;>A</a>)">(A) Count it all joy, my brothers,<sup class="footnote" value="[<a href=&quot;#fen-ESV-30252a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;>a</a>]">[a] when you meet trials<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30252B&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference B&quot;>B</a>)">(B) of various kinds, 3for you know that<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30253C&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference C&quot;>C</a>)">(C) the testing of your faith<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30253D&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference D&quot;>D</a>)">(D) produces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30254E&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference E&quot;>E</a>)">(E) perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

1 Peter 1:6-7

6In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30364A&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference A&quot;>A</a>)">(A) various trials, 7so that<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30365B&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference B&quot;>B</a>)">(B) the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30365C&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference C&quot;>C</a>)">(C) though it is tested by<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30365D&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference D&quot;>D</a>)">(D) fire—may be found to result in<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-30365E&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference E&quot;>E</a>)">(E) praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

John 16:33
33I have said these things to you, that<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-26748A&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference A&quot;>A</a>)">(A) in me you may have peace.<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-26748B&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference B&quot;>B</a>)">(B) In the world you will have<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-26748C&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference C&quot;>C</a>)">(C) tribulation. But<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-26748D&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference D&quot;>D</a>)">(D) take heart;<sup class="xref" value="(<a href=&quot;#cen-ESV-26748E&quot; title=&quot;See cross-reference E&quot;>E</a>)">(E) I have overcome the world."

All these verses talk about trials that test our faith. God does not create you trials, trials and tribulations are just a part of our imperfect world.

Your in a Airplane, the engine fails, you crash and die. Did God cause that engine to fail, no. Why did you die? Probably because you violated a natural law of gravity.

In this imperfect world, we all have trials and tribulations, it's how we handle them that God looks at.

Let your pain strengthen you and give you endurance and rely on the hope of glory.

In the last verse, John 16:33, Jesus is not saying so much that He has overcome the world. But, to not fear your trials and pain because, since he has overcome the world, so have you and your glory or perfection is assured!

God has always answered nearly all my prayers, but somehow i just don't have the strength

Its not about your strength, my friend, its about His strength.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; don't lean on your own understanding." (Prv 3:5-6 NIV)

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in (your) weakness." (2 Cor 12:9 NIV)
