Getting to know you

Thank you for sharing yourself with us. I can tell you that now You are a child of God, a princess, heir to the throne. God is a God of miracles and you can be healed. He still does healing today as long as people have the faith to believe He can heal. I know He does not heal everyone here on earth but I know some have shared testimonies of being healed from things like cancer too.

When you walk with God and learn to follow Him, you will become God centred and not self centred too. We need to focus on God and not on our circumstances. There is a lot to learn to help you grow in your walk. Do not try to do too much at once. Take one day at a time.

I like your signature line too. It is such a good one to remember.

I have 2 adopted 19 year olds on here now. I never know what God is going to do next.

I also used to be introvert and very self conscious and God has done a great work in me and totally transformed me. Confidence is now in Him and not in myself.

God bless you sister

Hannah,

God's love for us is not based on our qualifications or lack thereof. God's love is huge - beyond our wildest imaginings - and it is eternal; it will never end.Plus, it's free!.

"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved." (Eph 2:4-5)

Hannah:

Tell me how you became an ex-atheist, and what you do believe in now. Is there a group of believers that you fellowship with? Do you study the Bible?

Also, what is your occupation? Are any of your family atheists?

Well, there's many things to report since I last wrote on this thread. First two big items, both good news: my little sister got married to a fine, upstanding man; and my dad shot his first grizzly bear when it came onto our property and threatened us. I am well pleased with both events.

Spring is in full-swing and we're transplanting much of our plants either into the ground or into permanent containers. We haven't had any plant tragedies recently. Also, what we thought was a tragedy turned out to be not so bad: a few weeks ago we were transplanting our broccoli, and one way or another our goat got past the fence and ate the leaves off of the plants. However, the plants didn't die, they just regrew their leaves.

Basically, what we are running is an experimental farm. We are trying to see what grows in this area of the world, and how to grow it. We're not planning to grow enough to live on, at least not on this property, but if there ever comes a major catastrophe where our supply lines are cut off we want to know how to grow some foods so that we don't have to survive on spruce bark and bluebell leaves.

Christians in general should have basic survival knowledge. If something really bad happens, like hurricane Katrina, Christians should know what to do and be able to help people. I guess that for most people the first thing that they should know is how to get in and out of a disaster area. In hurricane Katrina lots of people were just sitting around waiting for someone to help them. Another important thing is seeing when trouble is coming and getting out of the way, like the people who evacuated New Orleans before Katrina hit.

We're pretty much done with planting and transplanting now. Daily chores include watering the garden and a few things to maintain the garden. We harvest lettuce once or twice a week (it grows really fast). The broccoli is already forming heads.

We're very concerned with the situation in the Middle East. Tensions and events seem to be getting worse, not better. If we get into a war with Iran they might re-institute the draft, and I for one don't want to be drafted. I do pray for the peace of Jerusalem, but I know that turmoil must come before Jesus comes back. I've been thinking about setting up a system for Christians to sponsor refugees to come over here. My family could take in several, but I know that many people out there couldn't. What do you people think about this idea?

Hi brother Christ's Serf. I read this thread briefly when you just posted it, but I gave it a reread just now.

I would like to apologize to you for not posting earlier, as I feel you have truly opened up your life and heart to all your brothers and sisters here on TJ.

Well, I'll tell you a bit about myself.

I'm a 23 year old guy, I was born in Bethlehem in the Freestate of South Africa, I was raised in various places across South Africa, the South and for the most part of 15 years in the East of our country.

I live approximitely 15-20km from the Kruger National Park, which is one of the biggest wildlife reserves in the whole world. Unfortutanely I don't get so much chances to visit it.

I said the prayer of salvation in 1999, but I truly feel the impact of God in my life these past 2 years. I am a student, I started with courses in computers in February this year. Unfortunately due to financial problems, my studies has been placed on hold.

I live with my older brother, whom is unsaved and his girlfriend who is saved, but they are living in sin together. My parents divorced about 3 years ago after my dad commited adultery. I visit my mom at least once every two months, she stays in a small town, a distance from us.

My goal is to complete at least half of my studies this year, then once I am satisfied with my results, I would like to start working. Currently I work by doing computer related tasks for my brother and mother in their business.

It's wonderful to hear about your lifestyle their in Alaska. Let me assure however that any attempt at waging war against Israel, will be left in the hands of God Almighty. You have the faith and I'm sure you aren't scared about dying, so plead the blood of Jesus over your life and that of your family and situation and be assured that Jesus has your best interests at heart.

Re, your last question about sponsoring refugees. I think it is a great thought, something which I see Jesus in you. If you work out the implications and get support from your nearby community, I believe with the help of God, you can truly mean something to those poor people.

Keep us posted on your progress and God bless your heart!

Much love
your brother teraside
