Would you date someone from another race?

I answered Yes. I'm white and I'm currently dating an Asian girl (she's Christian). I believe we should always date a Christian, if we are a Christian. The Bible is not against interracial marriage, but is against dating non-Christians.

2 Corinthians 6:14
“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”
 
I agree with Cody. I'm dating no one now, that's about it LOL.

Anyway, the only concern is dating unbelievers. If you date an unbeliever, its probably going to be a "match made in hell" so to speak. There is likely going to be verbal wars and disgreements. We can understand why GOD graciously warned us not to yoke with unbeleivers.
 
I voted maybe. I've never dated someone of another race, but have recently started considering it. Would it be so bad if he was a Christian and had a firm relationship with Jesus? The thing is about being equally yoked. Moses was married to someone of another race
 
I voted 'maybe', depending on the situations involved. I'd have a hard time seeing children in a mixed relationship suffer because of racist opinions they might have to deal with.

I dated someone outside my race once and we were happy until he had to go back to his country after two years. So I would surely say yes! I'm not sure if a long distant relationship is good for me though :embarasse .

Hi all,

I agree with Cody also. I became a Christian after I was married, unfortunately, my husband is not Christian and we fundamentally disagree on how our children should be brought up and have major differences in our values. I feel his views put my children at risk of not receiving their salvation. Although, I love him, it is a very difficult, isolating situation at times that I would not wish on any Christian. So I agree it is very, very important to be equally yoked.

My family is completely mixed up, and it's beautiful. Racism will always exist.
How a child see's himself starts at home. When that foundation is built there's nothing society can say to hurt them.
It started with my grand dad who married a beautiful dark skin lady, who produce beautiful mixed kids. My dad and his brothers and sister also followed suit in marrying different people. The " ... " family has more colours than the rainbow.

So don't worry to much about society.

I think if the guy is christian why not?... I never tought about this either, never been in the situation to think bout it... but I dont have any problems with having a relationship with a different race guy, but he has to be christian.

 
Hi, interesting topic. I once dated a person from another race and it was great while it lasted.

As for being unequally yoked. That scripture is talking about much more than marriage. I was not a Christian when I started dating the woman I am married to now. She was a Christian and people told her not to date me but she did not listen. I am glad she did not listen because it was through her that I became born again. Now we have been married 5 years and we are very happy. I think when a person dates a person who is not born again they should be strong in their relationship with Jesus. If they see that the difference between them is causing conflict then they can break it off but if they see that they are having a positive influence on their mate and their mate is willing to change then I don't see why they should not continue to date.

That's just my take on it.

Thanks for all the responses. Yes I agree in terms of marrying someone who is not yet believing but as much as you have an influence in their life and helping them to grow in the Lord, that is realy cool.

There is no problem If she loves the Lord

We are all color blind when it comes to Christ and we all speak one language. Why not dating another believer from another country or race?

I love topics like this... ne way i voted yes, because God does not see the color of our skin so why should we, i am black and i have dated a white guy before. The one thing i do regret about that relationship was that he was not a christian, but when i got saved i started looking for the spirit in a person, nothing else.

I agree with brother Cody, it's all about being equaly yoked.

One thing I am hesitant about cross cultural marriage is, it may take time to understand each other and create the intimacy because I believe our background is tuned according to the culture we are brought up. You know the way we talk, express our self.... and so on.

May needs a lot of prayer

There is only one race and that is human. Race is an evolutionary term. Unless you are marrying a horse or Martian you are marrying within your race no matter what people group or flavor they are from. We all came from Noah so we are all one blood and one race.

Thats true, evolution was actually use to promote and demote people of different Ethnicity.
Its funny how the education system promotes a study that was rooted from racism and hate.
Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but there's only one race, we just have different shades.
