Jer 25:15 God sends the cup of judgment that looks like a great whirlwind and goes from nation to nation.
Isaiah 26:11 says that the fire of Israel's enemies will destroy them.

Before the great and terrible day of the Lord, God will cause men to send evil from nation to nation that will look like pillars of fire and great whirlewinds that will have a hot blast with a shadow of a hot cloud which will burn men as lime and destroy the protective vail over every nation. This causes the sun to become black as sackcloth and the moon to look like blood and the heavens to roll up as a scroll. I believe God causes men to fight a nuclear war. God used nations to judge Israel all through history and He is going to do it again.

The sun will scorch men because it will become 7 times stronger.

I believe a nuclear bomb over Israel will destroy the ozone and hydrogen layers. When they burn it creates great heat and water vapor, which will cause heavy rains and hail.

God has always shown me scriptures about once more he will shake the heavens and the earth. and scriptures about birth pangs. its talking about earthquakes. which, we been having a lot of them lately. during a birth first comes contractions. then the actual birth. im a male and never had a baby but from the looks of it having the baby hurts worse than the contractions. so as they say, "the best is yet to come"

as for nukes or solar flares idk. never got a revelation on that. but i tell u just the other day i came accross a scripture said that the sun wouldnt smite me. so... i dont think a nuke/s. man made nukes. man could deny God if He used nukes and not what He created. He will use a method that man cannot say we are responsible. Only God could be capable of controling earthquakes and sun rays. He will share his glory with no one.

God's Nuclear War

During the tribulation the world will find the Bible very interesting.

Please read the first post. In Jeremiah 25:14-15,29-33 God sends out the cup of judgment which causes evil to go from nation to nation and great whirlwinds to be lifted up all over the earth. God will make men push the nuclear button.`

Zechariah 14:12-13 describes the plague as the flesh consuming away on both men and animals while they stand on their feet.

Isaiah 33:11-12 indicates that mans breath will burn them to white lime power.

Men will know the nuclear war was sent by God.

Ezekiel 39:6-7 tells us that when God sends the fire on Magog(Russia) and those who live carelessly in the isle (America) Israel will turn back to God because they will know the fire is a sign to them.

AT THE TIME of the tribulation period, the revived Roman Empire will again emerge as a dominant world power. It will be an alliance of ten kings or dictators and their kingdoms. When we come to the end of time before Jesus comes to take owner- ship of the earth, an eleventh horn, (nation) will come from the ten horns. It is a colony or offspring of the Roman Empire people. The Antichrist, who speaks very persuasively, will come to power in this young country, or little horn. The Antichrist will not come from Europe, which is the original western part of the original ten horns (kingdoms). The Antichrist will not come from the Middle Eastern or the North African parts of the former Roman Empire either, because he will not come from one of the ten areas of the revived Roman Empire.

I agree and there is always the possibility that the book of revelation is not being interpreted correctly.There are many alternative interpretations that take a bit of spiritual discernment.

The end of the world as we know it will not involve anything more than what we prove to ourselves it will be. There cannot be any knowledge prior to it, because God said so. Nobody will know when it will happen, because God said so.

Could it be that the depictions in Revelation hold true to the abilities of man? Sure. There is enough atomic energy in the vast quantities of nuclear warheads to plunge the Earth into a nuclear winter that would last for thousands of years.

Could it be that the sun will discharge such energy that it will scorch the Earth? Sure, but wouldn't it only hit half of it...as it, the side facing the sun?

Because God didn't allow us to know when the end would come or how it would come about other than what is written in the bible (and lets not forget that any prophesy based on future events holds true to the knowledge of the interpreter in his/her time), we cannot make any assumptions to what end it may be.

If a person 2000 years ago saw a spaceship, would he not relate what he saw to something that could be recognizeable to the people of his time? Would not the 4 horsemen be depicted in that way because that's as close to an explanation of what is recognizeable to he who saw it?

As evil erupts throughout the world, and science brings new technology of disaster with it, is it not possible that we may be looking into the future for something we recognize today? I feel that even though nuclear war may take place, it will not signal the return of Jesus. We must be patient and aware because nobody knows when.

Sorry, I don't have scripture passages to note for my opinion, only the memory of what I read and how it has been interpreted in my mind.

No a nuclear war could not fulfill all of the prophecies. The prophecies are prophecies given by God and God alone. They are His and His alone to fulfill, not humanities. Who fulfilled the prophecy of Jesus Christ? Who fulfilled every prophecy given by God in the entire bible even before revelation? A nuclear war would be at the hands and choices of humanity. Not once did God literally force a human being to do his will or bidding through forceful manipulation.

The LORD's prophecies aren't paranoia, they're proof. Whatever it will be, it will be by fire.

Revelation 8:5, 7, 8

The Lords prophecies are His prophecies and promises, not proof. Proof is hardcore/ironclad information that provides enough data for something to be fact. Proof has nothing to do with prophecies, because these prophecies in revelation have yet to be fulfilled. I actually never once accused anything biblical to be paranoia. It is the theories that humans get after they read something and contract into a thought or idea that is paranoia. This includes subjects like mass nuclear war, 2012, global warming, solar flares, etc etc. All of these things are fears from humanity put into vivid images out of paranoia of them actually happening. When in reality, the odds of them actually happening are very small, if not entirely impossible.

I don't understand the motive in focusing on end times to be honest. It is a pointless theory crafting area, and a pointless area to be paranoid or worried about. When or if the world ends, it will be on a much larger scale then we will ever be able to understand. It doesn't matter if it will be biblical or natural. If or when it is going to happen there will be nothing in anyone's power (united or separated) on earth to prevent. I also don't understand why a lot of Christians are excited about the prophecies in revelation either. What is joyous about billions of people dying and then having their very souls either completely destroyed or cast into ever-lasting torment? I am sure that God isn't happy about His creations that he has to destroy, even though they are His enemies, the bible even says this. Not applying the second part to the actual thread or anyone in it, but explaining why I feel strongly about end times theories.

Eric, I appreciate your studies but this is one area of bible study that has yet to make true connections that are not self defeating in some way or another. God only promised the church of Philadelphia that he would spare them the tribulation the other 6 were in deep trouble. He never said how he would spare them and it is too far reaching to believe that it will be by a invisible rapture event. We read about those who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord are changed and caught up to meet him in the air but the dead in Christ rise first and the first resurrection isn't until the end of the tribulation when the 2 coming happens.

I get so confused when trying to sort these things out because there has been much said in the NT on the issue and it all has to fit nicely together if the truth be revealed. Unfortunately, along with the end of the gentile age comes the blindness of the hearts of the believers who are here. Just as it was with Israel and the end of their age (not withstanding that there be 1 week left of it). I am working to get as close to God as I possibly can and beg that he will enlighten me and use me in this time. It is all up to the potter.

1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Why is the earth as hot an oven?

Isaiah 30:25–30 KJV
25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

Please notice verse twenty-six. The reflection of the sun off the moon then will be equal to the sun now! The sun will become seven times stronger. That is why the earth will burn as an oven, mentioned in Malachi 4 and why the sun scorches men, as mentioned in Revelation 16:8–9.

Why is the sun seven times stronger?

Isaiah 25:4–8 KJV
4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
6 And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

Isaiah states that God will be a refuge from the heat for the poor and needy when the blast with the wind and noise and the hot mushroom clouds come to Israel. God will help some of the righteous Jews to survive the nuclear blast. In verse seven, we see that the blast destroys the protective veil or ozone layer over all the nations of earth. Isaiah 34:1–4 and Isaiah 51:6 also discuss this event. John saw it in Revelation 6:12–17, when the heavens will roll up as a scroll.

In Isaiah 30:25–26, it says that the sun will become seven times stronger in the day of great slaughter. The day of great slaughter happens when the nuclear war takes place and the ozone layer is burned up as a scroll. Malachi 4:1 says that the earth will burn as an oven. In looking to the encyclopedia to see what parts of the atmosphere can burn, you will discover that the ozone is a triple oxygen molecule.
The ozone layer and the hydrogen layer are next to each other in the atmosphere above the earth. The chemical reaction when they burn is as follows:
Heat + oxygen + hydrogen = H2O (water) + greater heat
The ozone and hydrogen layers will be set on fire over Israel by an atomic blast, and then they will burn like the Hindenburg blimp. When the ozone and hydrogen burn, it will form hot water vapor that will condense into water droplets that will then become rain, which will form great hailstones that will fall to the earth along with torrential rain. When the atmosphere burns, the heavens will roll up as a scroll all the way around the earth, over every nation.

God has declared that the heavens shall be on fire that is for sure. He doesn't need a natural event to do it though. He can simply command all of the water vapor in the air to separate in to HHO and then one lightening bolt to set it all ablaze. Still, I see America getting nuked as judgment by God before anyone else.
