Halloween

Not taking part in Halloween will not bring us closer to God. We are no worse off if we do not, and no better off if we do...Paul said in 1Co 9:21 "To those outside the law I became as one outside the law--not being without law toward God but under the law of Christ--that I might win those outside the law."

But what about what these sciptures say? Do they not stand strong for us today as they did back then?

In order to become Holy as GOD is Holy, then we need to very serious & pay close attentions to our own actions.

James 4:4
people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

1 Peter 1:15
15. but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
16. because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy.''

Deuteronomy 11:16
But be careful lest your heart be so lured away that you serve other gods and worship them.

Deuteronomy 11:16
But be careful lest your heart be so lured away that you serve other gods and worship them.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Jeremiah 10:23
23 I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own;
it is not for man to direct his steps.

This is aver good question, but a very sensitive one. And is a matter of opinion.

No, I would not. But I would always remain remembering Jesus Christ and all He has done for us all.

I would still do my best to fallow & live His Teachings, always.
And thus I will always - always worship GOD.

Before I share some information, know that no one knows the exact date Christ was born on.

I've done research and Christmas might have a pagan background. Huge trees were worshiped by Druids. In Babylon, they had a feast of the Son of Isis. The Son of Isis was the goddess of nature. The date of this feast was December 25th. On this date they partied, ate, drank and gave gifts.

In 350, Pope Julius I announced that Jesus' birth would be celebrated on December 25th. He did this so hopefully the pagan Romans would convert to Christianity.

This information may be wrong and it may be right. The main thing we need to know that Christ was born and Christ is rizen. No matter what date He did it on. He did it! Amen, Glory to God.

Even if Christmas was originally a pagan holiday, lets take it and make it godly, just like God did with Paul.

So that leads me to this. If Halloween was a pagan holiday. I think we should turn it around and make it godly. For example my church dressed up as Bible characters at church. My friends and I went witnessing.

I believe Halloween is a great time to spread the gospel of Christ. Hand some gospel tracts out with your candy the next time you have trick or treaters at your door.

God Bless

I have a question for everyone, what if someone was to trace Christmas back to a pagan holiday or celebration, would you stop celebrating Christmas?

Yes, and I have. I will have nothing to do with worshipping a sun goddess (pagan holidays).

Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Gal 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
Gal 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
Gal 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

The birth and the death of our risen Christ, is in my heart daily and I will worship the Almighty God, through him on a daily basis, in spirit and truth.

Does the bible tell us to celebrate christmas or was it man?

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

The bible is complete, so no adding and no taking away.

1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Though this was a courageous & brave thing to do, it is also a dangerous thing to do.

My question is, if The Almighty GOD said to have nothing to do with pagan activity, then shouldn't we obey that?

I do understand what you're getting at.

In fact rizen1 claimed he did go out & gave out tracts on Halloween.

But please remember Halloween can never be consider godly.

We can give out tracts on Halloween, providing we go to GOD in prayer, asking HIM to guide & to pour out HIS Holy Spirit upon us & to protect us, before we leave to give out these tracts.

But please, do not dress your young ones up in costumes & send them out trick-or-treating or going to any Halloween party.

We should show our respects to GOD & to Jesus Christ by staying away from such activities.

Let that longing to serve GOD & the teachings of our Beloved Savior Jesus Christ continue to grow with in your soul.

Endure to the end with all your might! Never giving into any pagan desires!

Let your LOVE for The Almighty GOD & Jesus Christ show, strongly.

Life as we all know it is tough enough, in keeping up with the teachings of our Beloved Savior Jesus Christ & our worship to The Almighty GOD.

And always take note there could be devil worshipers out there waiting to strike.

Proverbs 1:10-18
10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them.

11 If they say, "Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul;

12 let's swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit;

13 we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder;

14 throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse"-

15 my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths;

16 for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood.

17 How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds!

18 These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves!

Deuteronomy 11:16
But be careful lest your heart be so lured away

Hebrews 12:15
See to it that no one be deprived of the grace of God, that no bitter root spring up and cause trouble, through which many may become
defiled,

I understand you also, sister. I respect your stance on this subject very much. I don't consider Halloween godly at all either. I'd rather turn it around and use it for God's sake.

What do you think about taking children trick or treating with gospel tracts. Like they go door to door and get candy and give the person at the door a tract. They could also give the other kids tracts. If parents did this with their kids with extra supervision, do you think it would be bad?

I'm not saying this would be a good or bad thing to do, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

God Bless

Hi brothers sisters

Most of our traditions or holidays have pagan descents. I was thinking about a medical emblem we have, and is used to symbolize health or healing in the healthcare field.

You know the one with the snake curled around a staff. It was a symbol for the God of healing, and goes back to ancient Greece. So if you look hard enough, or do research, you can find this stuff.

Since time immemorial the snake has been venerated as an enigmatic creature with supernatural powers. As a snake and staff symbol it is also traditionally associated with the healing arts, either as the single-snake emblem of Asklepios, or as the double-snake emblem (caduceus) of Hermes.

The mythological basis for this symbolism is reviewed. The Asklepian emblem has been associated with health care since the 5th century BC, when Asklepios became accepted by the Greeks as the god of healing. Whether he was also an historical figure as healer in earlier ages is less certain.

The origin of the double-snake emblem is shrouded in the mists of antiquity. In classical times it became the herald's wand of Hermes, messenger of the gods who guided departed souls to the underworld, and was seen as protector of travellers, shepherds and merchants. In the latter capacity Hermes also conveyed a negative connotation as protector of thieves.

During the Middle Ages the caduceus became a symbol of the healing sciences (pharmacy and alchemy in particular), and today, although mythologically incorrect, it is in common usage in the health care field.

So should i refuse heathcare because of this?

I know that Hallowween has a dark side to it, So does the Christmas tree? I think this is mentioned in scripture, but sometimes we can go too far i guess. I live in the country, so Halloween is no big deal here. Just kids getting candies.

So i say according to ones conscience, as long as its not being fried... to each his own.

As far as Christmas trees i try not to let pine boughs prick my conscience.

No wonder Paul said to the pure all things are pure, we would have a hard time leaving our houses, if we knew the truth about everything.

God bless all

I've read all the post and I just want to say as a police woman it is true that halloween these days are used by all kinds of occulting groups to celebrate evil. It includes murder, assualt, rape and all kinds of crime as well as sinning against God.

The origin may have not been evil but today halloween is the territory of occultic croups. If we are not careful whe or our children may be drawn into an activity which is for evil and not good. And then we will open a door for satan that we don't want open.

"3Jo 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God."

The best way to ensure that we as Christians and our children is not affected by these evil practises is to distance ourselves from halloween completely.

When in doubt about anything it is better to stay away from whatever you are not sure about than to have to carry the negative consequences. And the truth of the matter is whether we know we are sinning or not there will be consequences and how will anyone ask for forgiveness if they don't know that they have sinned.

I really think that we must take the opening post as a warning whether it is factually correct or not.

Blessings!

After posting I went to make myself some coffee and God reminded me of something that I wanted to share with you which is very important.

Last week I was doing inspections in the bushveld near the Botswana border. I saw several patches of veld covered in yellow flowers. It was an awesome sight - so beautiful I can't really describe it. It looked like someone covered the bushveld with a yellow blanket.

Great was my surprised when I got near it and walked in this veld - the flowers was growing from an ugly bush full of thorns. It was a big bush and the flowers was small but plenty.

Although it looked beautiful, atractive and good from afar, it was very clear when I was close that it was not something that I want to touch or came near to, because it was in fact not good at all.

I was standing in that veld and I though to myself this is what life is all about - many things look good, innocent and right from a distance but it is only when we get close (being in a situation) that we realize it is not so good and completely wrong. And many times it is too late to get out and then only repentance and calling to God will get us out of difficult situations.

But we are enticed by the beauty and don't know what is waiting when we get there!

Don't make a mistake, halloween may seem innocent but it is not - and it will never be, it will only get worse.

Blessings!

Not Wise!

I go along with what Ann posted.

With all honesty, I don't think it would be wise. It's dangerous enough for adults to do it.

Do to the fact of the widespread problems of kidnapping & performing human sacrifices on children {including animal sacrifices as well}.

Though not everyone that celebrate Halloween are devil-worshipers, this does not mean devil worshipers are not out there.

Because they are!

Devil worshipers are the enemy of all who worships {or longs to worship} The Almighty GOD

Because they are the enemy of The Almighty GOD & Christ Jesus, too!

What I am about to say is tragic, but what's also known to be the truth.
Please do bare with me on this.

I watch the TV show -20/20 about Devil Worshipers. They spoke with ex-devil-worshipers, who admitted the truth about these human sacrifices.

They said they would through a birthday party & have their young child invite some children home from school. All would go home but one.

The one they chose to sacrifice.

They would hand a knife over to their child & tell their child to cut out the heart of this child they chose to sacrifice to the devil.

They would tell their child if they don't then they were going to do the same to them.

We hear about runaway never returning home, we hear of children disappearing never to be found. Or found DEAD!

Just because their heart was not cut out, does not necessarily mean they where not used as a sacrifice of some sort.

Please forgive me, I did say it was tragic.

It not that I want to scare you or anyone, but to state the truth with facts as I hope Christ Jesus & The Almighty GOD would want me to.

Thank you Ann, it's a blessing having you here. I truly love the way you put it.

May your walk with The Almighty GOD always be a Blessed One! *genesis

Jonah, you are right that is very sad and tragic. I believe as Christians we need to accept the fact that sharing the gospel might get us killed, just like Stephen. They warned him, but he couldn't contain what he experienced. His faith led to death, but his death led to Eternal Life with Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:16
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.." KJV

Absolutely!

Acts 7:59-60
59. And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.''
60. Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin.'' And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Absolutely! And The Bible tells us, things like this will happen.

In general to me standing up for GOD & dieing for HIM is no differance then what I would do for my loved ones.

And I would love to be one of HIS angels.

Obvious I am a humin-being.

Not that I do not enjoy being human, for I realize I still have delight to Worship & Serve The Almighty GOD.

I believe that Jesus showd us the way & through Him He is the way to The Almighty GOD & therefore - everlasting life.

Luke 11:49-50
49. Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
50. That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

Luke 21:10-17
10. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11. And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
12. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13. And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
14. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
16. And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

The rituals and practices of Satanists and those who practice witchcraft in this day and age in America on Halloween are indeed gruesome and blasphemous. Children are being subject to ritualistic child abuse in America. I discovered a document many years ago online published for the training of the Los Angeles Police Dept. on procedures for handling such situations. I stopped celebrating Halloween years ago because I agree with the author of this post 100%. All I can think of is while our children are happily dancing from house to house gathering goodies and having fun, there are children being abused and murdered right under our noses. My refusal to celebrate halloween does make me a party pooper I admit but oh well. Instead I look forward to the next day, All Saints Day and quietly celebrate that. This isn't to say that when my son was little that I deprived him of the fun of trick or treats but my wife knew how I felt about it so we didn't make a big deal out of it and today my son could care less about the event. I've done research over the years on the growth of paganism in America and you'd be surprised what goes on under the radar. It (halloween) certainly does not belong in our churches to say the least.
