The reason I am posting is because I believe people are still sensible and reasonable on this forums. I have been hurt so many times on Christian forums I don't even visit them anymore, except here. So please bear with me.
I have been a first hand victim of ostracization against my Chinese nationality. It got me depressed for many years and sowed lots of hatred inside me, that was before I knew God, of course. But I literally saw the world as evil and hated it because of what I had to endure as a Chinese. People were hating my country because of Communism, and then generalized all Chinese people to be wicked, even if they never broke the law or harmed anyone. This is nothing surprising from an unbelieving world now since as a follower of Christ I know all these racial, political, religious animosity are sowed by the devil himself. But to see this from Christians is discouraging and somewhat painful.
Let's examine objective history to see if hatred of a country due to its politics is even reasonable.
1) China never invented Communism. Communism was invented by Karl Marx who is a German. So why is only China hated, but not Karl Marx for inventing Communism? Seems absurd isn't it?
So why did China subscribe to Communism? I don't care about politics but as a nation China needed a country wide revolution desperately. Qing Dynasty was overthrown in early 1900s due to foreign invasion by the West and China faced two decades of civil unrest and military campaigns (armies fighting against one another for control of land and wealth) after that, citizens were stricken with poverty and death. It was very hard to even survive during that time and people lived in desperation. Communism started to become a political movement during this period as a hope for equity and unity, there was no Communist government yet. Then WW2 started and China was invaded in 1937. Kuomingtang Government was corrupt at that time and lots of authority figures were oppressing the citizens, seizing their wealth for greed (This is reflected in literature written by Chinese literature writers who lived during that period). During WW2 when Japan invaded China, there were a lot of wrong decisions made by KMT government and giving up of lands to the Japanese that caused more suffering for the citizens - Nanjing Massacre as an example. People wanted a changed country, a new government, no poverty, no corruption and equity of wealth. It is not surprising then that Communism was very appealing as a political ideal.
For a good period of time Communism did bring welfare to the poor and oppressed, if it was nothing but garbage another revolution would have happened. Communism ultimately failed to live up to its ideals because of the corruption of human nature, and China has adapted and changed it since then. China could not afford another war based revolution or even political upheaval because it lived in war and poverty for decades since the downfall of Qing Dynasty. It can only change and adapt with what it already adopted.
2) China has never started an invasion on another country since the founding of CCP - and it hasn't invaded a foreign country and expanded beyond East Asia even before CCP existed. If anything, China has a good reason for hating the West for their Eight-Nation Alliance invasion into China in 1900 during Qing Dynasty. Qing government and the Chinese people were robbed of their wealth and murdered for no reason. Many of the invaders were even of Christian faith, and yet they killed without mercy. So why is China hated when it has never invaded your country?
3) This world has turned into a conflict between political ideals of Capitalism and Communism since WW1 - this conflict is the work of the devil to sow hatred and murder among nations, its glaringly obvious. But just looking at objective history, China has never been a troublemaker on the global scene. China fought in the North-South Korea conflict to defend itself from possible invasion again by Western forces once the entire Korea gets occupied by them (Korea borders northeast of China). China fought India because India was causing trouble on the borders unprovoked. Not once did China start a military conflict for expansion purposes under CCP for the past decades - this is verified history and all you are fed are baseless rumours that China will fight to expand. So what is the reason for hating China as though it has already caused troubles to neighboring nations?
If you are a Christian, why are you letting yourself drawn into political driven hatred and animosity that is not Christlike, at all?
