@Christ4Ever -- you're right, in that the only real freedom Is in Christ Jesus -- but , as you know, the politics -- elections -- our leaders are ordained by God and we are to follow them unless they are telling us to go contrary to God's Word.
But this election -- Biden vs Trump = a way of life that no one really wants except socialists / communists OR the person who has been working very hard For this country / our freedom. And, in the process -- we MIght be called to jail or prison -- in which case -- there will be a prison, jail ministry. 'We' never know who we'll be in contact with.

Born again believers Do have eternity in heaven to look forward to. In the Meantime -- yes -- we Are here to spread God's Word / Ambassadors / Reps of God through Jesus Christ.

Sometimes we Are called to go through a mess so that others can see how we are reacting To that. Are we screaming and crying Or more relaxed -- knowing that God is still in control no matter what happens.

There was a lady I'd known some time ago. Her mother was diagnosed with cancer and was doing the chemo -- the daughter was praying for her to get better and bemoaning all the treatments she had to go through. The Mother on the other hand was able to witness to other chemo patients. And since she knew her time was limited -- she asked the daughter to not continue the moaning and groaning, but pray for those other patients as she was sharing the Gospel with them.

There is something I should have brought up the first post I did, and that has to do with the title itself, coupled with your ensuing posting. We as Christians are not called to Love political systems. We are called to love people. Just because people run these systems doesn't mean that we are supposed to love the systems they work in. The system we belong to as Christians, and who we owe allegiance to is Heavenly! Though one day Christ will establish His reign here as well, but until that day we are but Ambassadors/Representatives, and should never put any one Nation above the Kingdom of God that we belong to Sister.

Every Country will sing its own praises, but none count if they don't bend knee to our Lord and Savior, who is King of kings, Jesus. If you can't agree with this, then you need to check again what it means to be a Child of the Most High, and to whom you belong to and what takes precedence in your life. The systems all around the World, including China, will not like that your choice is God, and Jesus Christ in particular. They all believe that they are right and everyone else is wrong, and should come first in your life as a Citizen. Not realizing that we all fall short of the Glory of God, and that one day they too, will give obedience to Jesus Christ.

So, don't get so caught up in the nuances/propaganda that each country puts out there about another. That is not what you should be about as a Christian. You go to the street corner and start Evangelizing whether in China, or just about any other country and you will find persecution. Don 't believe it. Try it. The governments will tell you one thing or another, but regardless what it comes down to is that you either do it their way, say it their way, or you'll pay the price for doing it otherwise. They won't care if you're being faithful to God at what He has called you to do. Even after our Lord Ascended, and the Apostles preached in the Temple and healed many. They were persecuted. Do you think that China, or any other country would be an exception to this???

I will be blunt that when I see the replies later on since the discussion with Sue I got this impression: the West believes that all Chinese who aren’t Christians are not innocent and deserve to be murdered and looted and therefore West has a right to invade or interfere in China. If that is the case I am truly disgusted with the unloving attitude towards unbelieving Chinese. God shows no partiality with people, just because a person hasn’t shared the Christian faith yet doesn’t mean God loves them any less. Nor do they deserve to be murdered and looted for not believing in Christ. To even harbor such a degrading view of non-Christian Chinese is ungodly. It would be really ironic when you mention we are to love people when the West dehumanizes the ordinary Chinese civilian like this.

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with defending political systems. I have made myself very clear in the beginning that political conflicts are stirred up by the devil. The West has been sowing discord for a long time about how China is a threat, and that is just how political conflicts come to be - demonization of your opponent. China has been put on the defensive on almost all levels, yet somehow the West believes that by demonizing China they are reducing their own perceived dangers. I have yet to see how peace can be achieved by provoking your imaginary enemies - so the West is clearly not working towards peace of any sort.

Jesus would have said otherwise too. We are to even make peace with our enemies, and do our best to be at peace with others - regardless of their faith or political background. This is the Christian attitude but the West has gone the opposite direction and by doing so they are in fact increasing the possibility of conflict. Judge for yourselves what is right because God is not fooled. If the West persists in this they will inevitably pay the consequences because they refuse to make peace when they could.

I'm agreeing with everything Christ4Ever is saying. And saying , also, what I've said.

This World / every person in it -- will be acknowledging God in the future. Each country is made up of individual people who All need Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

We All have either heaven or hell in our eternal future.

Now tell me who was our Lord talking about?

However, I won't worry too much about being disparaged for being Chinese, or from China. You're more then that in Christ Jesus!!!! Always remember that our God is not looking at you as being Chinese, or from China. He sees a Child of God, His Daughter!!! Set these Worldly thoughts behind you and rejoice in God's Grace that you have been chosen to be His!!!

Why is saying negative things about the Chinese government a necessity? I never praised or glorified them anyway, I merely talked about the reality of what is going on in the political scene and what is really going on in China.

I hope they will repent and change their attitude that is why I am writing this. Some are merely drawn into political propaganda and harbor animosity towards the Chinese because of what the media tells them. Should they not be allowed to repent? I believe they should be given that chance.

This isn’t that much about what I endured as what could happen if this political conflict is allowed to persist. What is being done on the political scene in provoking China is only going to pave the way to more conflict, and in the end, it will be your loved ones and my loved ones who will be suffering should war break out. The West could have stopped provoking and made peace instead, but they don’t choose the way Jesus commanded.

Furthermore, I have not badmouthed any government in this thread for that matter - so I don’t see why I need to single out the Chinese government. The West is a general term I use for the political scene, and isn’t even about any particular government.

As a Christian I should be respecting the authorities as the apostle said regardless of what political stance they hold. Governments do objectionable things all the time, since the time when the first Christians were persecuted under Roman rule. I would have appealed to the Chinese government in a respectful way so they will not implement policies like the One Child Policy but I wasn’t even born when it was implemented.

My disagreement was with the sowing of discord with political propaganda, let’s get this straight. It is the onus of the West to stop doing this.

I don’t want an all out war to happen and the West needs to stop provoking China if it wants true peace. The Christian way is to make peace with others, not demonise them. Anything that is offensive about this stance or anything false about what I said?
