Helping Hands

Prayer is truly a wonderful thing, to be able to tell God about someone's misfortune and instead of feeling completely helpless, you can intervene directly and powerfully by asking God and pleading their case with love and faith.

But can prayer be a substitute for dipping your hands in your pockets. That's an insult of God's blessings, a prime example of the third man in the parable of the talents. James had an interesting take on this-
Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? James 2:15‭-‬16 NIV

There's been a few requests in Prayer Requests that might find a more practical response more appropriate but beware of scammers.

Proverbs 28:6 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.

Proverbs 28:8 Whoever multiplies his wealth by interest and profit gathers it for him who is generous to the poor.
(KJV) He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

Ecclesiastes 4:13
A poor and a wise child is better than the old and stupid king who does not know to be warned any more.

Ecclesiastes 9:15 And there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom saved the city. Yet no man remembered that poor man!
9:16 And I said, Wisdom is better than strength; but the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

And that still continues today. The wisdom and common sense of "ordinary" people is despised and ignored by the elites.

Growing up grocery showers were the norm. WMC boxes were like Christmas.. The Assembiles of God woman's group was called, Women's Missionary Council. ...Dad ,the pastor, could often be found fishing early Sunday morning, some one needy would have a cleaned ready to fry mess of trout.

There is a deep ugliness to the ungodly prosperity teaching. It is deep wide and not fit for His Kingdom.

Most of the prosperity teachers, as they are called, do not teach to prosper for the sake of prospering. They teach that we are blessed so we can be a blessing...That's the part a lot of Christians refuse to listen to. They find it easier to condemn the teaching that IS in the bible.

YUP that is why they have so much in different properties while millions have nothing ... They take the pew members money and live very well. Some times we just will not open our eyes. Between you and me this will go nowhere but yes no yes no yes no yes no Believe as you wish.

I'm saying that many many Christians condemn the teaching that God wants to prosper His people, and they ignore the fact that 'God prospers His people' is all through the bible...They think that being poor is being godly....but is God poor? Aren't we to be like Him in all things? Don't you think that if God WANTS to prosper His people, it might be a good thing? But Christians in general, seem to prefer to listen to Satans lies than God's truth. You have to decide who you will listen to...

Deuteronomy 30:19-20
19 “I call on heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have presented you with life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore, choose life, so that you will live, you and your descendants, 20 loving Adonai your God, paying attention to what he says and clinging to him — for that is the purpose of your life! On this depends the length of time you will live in the land Adonai swore he would give to your ancestors Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya‘akov.”

Deuteronomy 8:17-19
17 you will think to yourself, ‘My own power and the strength of my own hand have gotten me this wealth.’ 18 No, you are to remember Adonai your God, because it is he who is giving you the power to get wealth, in order to confirm his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as is happening even today. 19 If you forget Adonai your God, follow other gods and serve and worship them, I am warning you in advance today that you will certainly perish.

Matthew 6:19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,
6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Luke 12:29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.
12:30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
12:31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
12:32 “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
12:33 Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.
12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Jeremiah 22:15 Do you think you are a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.
22:16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Is not this to know me? declares the LORD.
22:17 But you have eyes and heart only for your dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, and for practicing oppression and violence.
