I love the snow. Why the "hope you like it"?
As for the two witnesses, and the plagues, God gave Elijah I believe, the ability to shut up the heavens for rain or not as "pressure on the king, queen, and the nation as a whole." God give his "special servants" amazing powers over things of the earth, but as you say, only when He trusts them to not even consider abusing that power, which many servants would. Its like politics all over, even if you go into it with a pure heart, you either are corrupted into something you would used to have despised, or disgusted by all the immorality, and not being able to accomplish anything because you are a sore thumb on the hand of corruption that runs things. There are few and far between, men that stand firm in the "important things" that we covenant to do with others. Its said that when Jesus rules for the 1000 year reign on earth, He will rule with iron. That means He will do what needs done, even if it hurts some of these vessels we call bodies that house our essence. He trust those special servants to do the same, for despite humanities ideas that the body is what is important, its the Spirit, the soul that is important, and a little fire to burn away the dross is worth the final result.
