... Revelation 20:4-6 (ESV):
“Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God's word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the 1,000 years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over these, but they will be priests of God and the Messiah, and they will reign with Him for 1,000 years.”
Now do you see it? If the first resurrection doesn’t occur until after the tribulation (which as even pre-trib fans admit is when the Antichrist runs around beheading those who refuse to take his mark) how can the saints be raised from the dead before the tribulation starts?
I have never met a pre-tribulation follower who can explain that one. The vast majority in fact are greatly surprised when I point it out.
Tee Hee! I use that passage as a proof text for the
pre-tribulation rapture (thus proving the post-tribulation rapture
onlyist in a slight error. Yes, there will be a post-tribulation
rapture, it just isn't the only rapture).
Of course, I figured out the tribulation on my
own (with lots of study and help from the Holy Spirit).
So for me the best book ever written by LaHaye was
HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF
(Harvest House, 1998 Edition). yea!
Obviously I don't agree 100% with LaHaye either, but
he got to be a Millionaire evangelist with his fiction books
and I'm just a retiree.
Rev 20:4-6 (KJV1611 Edition):
And I saw thrones, and they sate vpon them,
and iudgement was giuen vnto them:
&
I saw the soules of them that were beheaded
for the witnesse of Iesus, and for the word of God,
and which had not worshipped the beast,
neither his image, neither had receiued his marke
vpon their foreheads, or in their hands;
and they liued and reigned with Christ a thousand yeeres.
5 But the rest of the dead liued not againe vntill the thousand
yeeres were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed & holy is he that hath part in ye first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be Priests of God,
and of Christ, and shall reigne with him a thousand yeeres.
The difference between post-trib only and
pre-tribulation rapture is three 'and's (Greek 'kai'),
one first, and a couple of 'day's.
Here the '&' is a translation of the Greek 'kai'.
I believe it to mean two separate groups of people
The pre-tribulation raptured saints:
//And I saw thrones, and they sate vpon them,
and iudgement was giuen vnto them: //
and the post-tribulation raptured
Jewish saints (AKA: Tribulation saints):
//I saw the soules of them that were beheaded
for the witnesse of Iesus, and for the word of God,
and which had not worshipped the beast,
neither his image, neither had receiued his marke
vpon their foreheads, or in their hands;//
