How Do I Put on the Armor of God?

Dear Sister,
Should I stop calling you Sister in Christ? ;)

So, the bible you use calls Him Yeshua?
Just checking, because the bible I read though not in the original tongue identifies my Lord and Savior with a few names, but they all point to the Son of God.

Story time: There used to be a Sister in Christ who was a member here on Talk Jesus, who was adamant about Jesus or Yeshua as being called the Lamb of God. She would not acknowledge any other name, and even got angry that anyone would believe differently even when I pointed out Isaiah 9:6 she would not accept it! The verse is kind of appropriate considering the season! :)

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

So, in a certain way you kind of remind me of her. She won't bend for no one even if Scripture said something different. Sadly, she left the site shortly thereafter. I'm sure you two would have gotten along quite well! :)

Nope, not trying to change your mind about His name, but also not giving you room to say another is wrong either that identifies the Son of God as Jesus, through the Bible Translation they happen to use. That would be wrong don't you think? Otherwise, it would also mean they worship/pray to a different Son of God which then could only be the Adversary?

Yeshua = Salvation
Jesus = Jehovah is salvation
Jehovah = the existing One

I also don't believe that we have His name right even if we were to use Yeshua. Why? Remember the Tower of Babel. What was the original language before God confused it, into what we pretty much have today in all its differences/nuances? Me neither.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Dear Sister,
My questions are jabs?
How can I define your boundaries as it pertains to Christians without them?
Sorry another question you won't answer.

I'll leave you with a thought.

Don't be surprised that many of those next to you in Heaven or Earth praising our Lord & Savior/God Yeshua will be/have been Christians!

God bless and don't be too hard on them Christians, because they love you too.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I'm not a Christian tho

It's man that trys n complicates the Word when He tell us my yolk is easy n My Word is so simple a child can understand Him

He tell us to separate from those who go astray n refuse to go back to the ways of Truth

He tell us Yshua is the spirit of prophecy He tells us He is the Truth He tells us He will send the comforter the spirit of Truth He tells us He will b called Immanuel n He tells us He will pour out His spirit without measure n He also tells us He will teach His children in those days n these r those days

I find more peep like hanging on to that title ova following what the Word tells us

Twistie :broken_heart:
What does it mean when a person says " i am not a Christian" yet believes in the One God . How can a person separate what is One.

You might not know Jesus in your mind, but God lives in your heart. And if Christians took the time to really understand the Scripture. They would know, when you recieve the Word into your heart, you recieve Jesus into your heart. This is whether your mind knows Him or not.

Look at the Jews, the Israelites, they, the Apple of God's Eye. How could they be this, if not recieving Jesus into thier hearts already. Scripture states, Jesus wasn't revieled to them. But Scripture never says, Jesus wasn't with them. Infact it is in Peter were we see that Jesus was the Rock that followed the Israelites around in the Desert.

Being a Christian isnt knowing who Jesus is, being a Christian is recieving God in your heart.

I would be careful with what you think you know versus others.

It is the last line that is most important "being a Christian, is recieving God into your heart

Ya idk about that I believe it's YHs grace that allowed me to receive YH into my heart

My walk n my experience has shown me otherwise of what a christian is

I have nothing against them but I'm Leary n watchful around them sad to say

Jews and Christians walk a simalar path, in that to become what thier name represents, all they need to do is to walk with God. God lives in them and they live in God.

"A true Jew is not to look like a Jew, but one who loves God"

This is also true for anyone that calls themselves Christian. This is why the once saved always saved crowd are so mistaken. Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior is not an open invitation to do whatever you want, then claim i am a Christian when standing before God.

It's not written I'm coming back for Christians nor does He say His is a nation of Christians many put faith in that word Christian over Christ like I said I was told not to go in their ways.

When reading scripture, as we know, it is important to read the whole passage, not bits and pieces, else we read out of context. But, there are times when single words have to be fully understood, hence the study of the original word, this further helps reading in context the whole passage and our understanding of it.

Translations can be a menace, they can be misleading at times, even reading several translations, as many of us do, we can still miss the true meaning of the word in the original language.

John 15 is one of my favourite pieces of scripture Bill, the root, also called a lump is referring to the Father of which all goodness comes; the vine is our Lord who is fed the goodness from the Father, we are the branches as Jesus wonderfully describes, allowing the good of the Father, the root of our faith, to run through the vine, our Lord and Saviour, and then to all born again, washed and spiritually regenerated souls, it is like a blood transfusion from the Father through the Son. But we do not get the sap and goodness to make us feel better, no, no, it is so we can share the Good News of the Gospel unto salvation with others, that they too can be grafted into the vine through faith in Jesus, it is given to us so that we bare fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Praise the Lord, what a Blessing that is my friend, the Goodness of the Father, through Jesus, to each of us who is not worthy even to tie or untie his sandals.

Bless you.

Not me. This brother+- Paul uses a hyphon.

What gives you the idea that the OSAS by the grace of God have a open invitation to do whatever they want?

I also see clearly (in history and today) that many who claim to be Christians simply are NOT. As Jesus points out there are tares among the wheat and tho members of the Churchianity club they are NOT His (Matt. 25:1-13). They believe they are Chosen or the Elect and therefore do what is right in their own eyes.

God is the only one who knows who will or will not accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. And by their fruits we Will know who they are.
Those who you are describing apparently believe that their good works or good lives are getting them to heaven.
Or maybe there are those who've commented thst since they Are born-again, they claim to be one of God's elect. That person should be talked to privately and in a concerned way About their salvation.

No the ones I am talking about are those who claim they are saved yet are selfish greedy and only serve self unlike Christ. When one really has been born from above they are slowly transformed more and more into His image.

These good works do not save but the saved will do them. They want to. Their hearts are moved with compassion like Christs (Eph. 2:10)

When a person has accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior , the Holy Spirit immediately comes to indwell them and will give them new desires thar are positive. As a result , they won't want to do the negative things they used to enjoy.

True! Amen.

"the Holy Spirit immediately comes to indwell them"
