How to be pro-life in Biden's america

Thank you. Yes all of that makes sense.

Our societies are in a terrible state in regard to thinking about sex. Totally and horrible confused. At the same time it is idolized and cheapened. Thought of as both utterly frivolous and of overwhelming importance.

Sadly, I don't hear that much from the church at large to give a healthy perspective on sex and sexuality.

I didn't know you were a therapist. How long before I should address you as Dr Jesus is Lord?

You are correct, it is so sad how the society looks at sex.

I don't mean to speak negative about the body of Christ but pastors seem too timid to talk about sex in church. Not all, I've had some did do speak out about holiness, but not most.

We as a body of Christ have to first live the example if our witness is to have power.

Keep me in prayers with school. No set graduation date. I'm done all my courses, glory to God 4.0 (straight As). Now I'm working on my dissertation. I bet you would love to hear the topic.

Yea I'm an LCSW-C (Licensed certified social worker clinical)
I can diagnosis mental illness and treat them.
So I have my BSW, MSW, and working now on DSW.

I've worked as a therapeutic mentor, school based therapist, clinical therapist, social services supervisor, school based coordinator of mental health, and private practice therapist.
I work with all populations, mainly, children, adults, family therapy, couples therapy, and social skills group. My specialty is family therapy and couples counseling. I work here Counseling, Therapy Peace of Mind Mental Health Services, LLC Easton, MD

Actually, I just find it strange that the decrease is attributed to a decrease in demand. I couldn't help it, but my initial reaction to this was "dah". Of course a decrease in abortions are due to people wanting fewer ones. Does this have to do with availability, or maybe its an increased awareness that Abortion is Murder on the population that is more likely to have them? Could it also be that protected sex, or an increase of same sex couples? One sin for another? Sigh. Without Christ it just doesn't get better does it?

If I may interject a thought -- this is a very important subject. The subject of sex -- Anywhere -- seems to be ignored or brushed -off --- too personal. But there is a very 'simple' solution to the abortion problem. As has been mentioned -- it's sad how society looks at sex. How about teaching abstinance. It's an old-fashioned concept that no one really practices. Parents seem to have the mind-set that 'they are going to do 'it' so teach the guys to be prepared with a condom or the gals on birth control.

But why Not teach Biblical morality? Why not teach that sex is a very special relationship to be saved for marriage.

Seems like this 'modern' world has left Bible behind. We need to get Back To Bible / back To God and His Word.

Something else has occurred to me -- do 'we' ever sit down and have conversation with family or friends, etc. Or have we become texters. And I know with COVID and masking and social distancing -- this is turning into a weird world.
Positive social interaction isn't the norm.

We seem to be looking for 'love' in all the wrong places. Sex isn't especially love.

Good point -- with all the same-sex coupling taking place -- pregnancy isn't possible. But That's far from Biblical, too. Trading one sin for another. Good point.

So far nobody seems to be willing to engage in a conversation about the most effective ways of reducing the number of abortions.

No problem at all!!! Change the HUMAN HEART so that it craves righteousness, and the issue goes away. Otherwise, no matter WHAT you do, inconvenient babies will be murdered. If not by a Doctor, then with a coat hanger and a bucket in an alley.

The only way to win this abortion war is to wage war against the god who demands human sacrifice...Molloch, Ba-al, Apophos, Satan All the same person....We will not win this by talking about it...We will win this in the spirit realm...Or not. Its your choice.

But History quiz!!! What happened throughout history, to every country that ever practiced human sacrifice?

Since abortion is the result of unwanted pregnancy -- guys -- don't approach women for sex. And women -- don't make yourselves available to the guys. Don't engage in sex unless you're married.

All true, but even married people get abortions sometimes.

@B-A-C -- well -- I guess even married people make very poor decisions -- killing their own child before it's been born. Must be under extraordinary conditions.

About 12% of women having abortions are married.

I think viewing this as a war is not the most helpful. It's too easy to end up viewing people who disagree with us as enemy combatants or collaborators etc.

But even if you do, the war is being won. The abortion rate has dropped hugely in the past 30 years.

Some of that might be those who've been told their babies are deformed or predicted to have life-altering complications upon being born -- and some might be older couples who end up pregnant and don't feel they can handle another baby.

And a person Also hears of couples who are told their babies will have major problems and go ahead and have that baby Anyway. And women who will endure most anything in order To be able To give birth.

But the majority of abortions are used as 'birth control'. which suggests that abstaining from sex is the best form of birth control.

I agree, and I think if we as a church can do this in our community and show the world that it is a better way, our witness is stronger.
It is hard for us to advocate it being taught, when the body of Christ is not doing it. I agree with you, and to add we the church need
to lead by example.

People will follow if they see that something is better. So if we can show them that waiting till marriage is better, if studies can show that
Christians are having longer , healthier marriages due to the benefits of not having many partners, that is a powerful witness. The world
listens to research.

Let us live it, and then/as we share it with the world, our words will have a stronger impact.

Abortion allows other sins to hidden. Adultery, fornication, incest .. but we also know this ...
Num 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
The church is weak because of sin. We , the church, tend to cover up sin thinking it can be hidden, We should know sin can not be hidden good grief Adam and Eve tried it... We will not do literally or figuratively as was done for Israel in the case of Achan.
2Ch_7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Churches Used to practice church discipline -- not saying discipleship -- but Discipline.

When people within the church body are acting in ways that are not Biblical , someone should 1st prayerfully and lovingly approach the person privately and share their concern from Biblical standards and see how the person responds. Maybe they're not aware that their actions are not Biblical and will respond back in a positive way. Others might not appreciate that and decide to continue Anyway. In Which case -- Two people could approach in the same way - therefore there's a witness to what's happening. Usually by That time -- the person decides to leave that church. But, sometimes the situation will require the attention of the board of deacons and they will be removed from membership until they acknowledge their problem and repent. The goal Should be to have the 'offender' acknowledge their problem and change and come back into fellowship with the church people who , hopefully, will be a forgiving people.

But if a church body allows sinful behavior to remain -- not do anything about it -- it will end up damaging the church's reputation. Lots of times it's the 'popular' people who can do 'things' and not be approached. No one wants to be the instigator of potential church discipline. They are concerned that the other person will say -- 'what gives You the right to call Me down when You are doing 'such and such' yourself?

And people usually do not respond well to having someone 'thump' them on the head with a Bible.

And taking someone aside from a room full of people would draw unwanted attention to the person.

The discipling of new Christians is also important. New believers should Not be left on their own to read / study God's Word. They need someone to along beside them to talk to.

I'm with you on this in theory -- but in practice the church is little different from the world, regardless of what is said from the pulpit. There is a colossal task for the church to get it's own house in order. See this chart for example

That is exactly what I'm saying,

We need to get our house in order. My point exactly. We have to lead by example. We can't tell the world to practice abstinence, when we are not. Or sexual purity, when we are not. We are saying the same thing.

So true, often you don't hear people talk about all of those things that lead to abortion.

Instead of public education campaigns about the dangers of all those things, society wants to have their cake and eat it too.
They want to sleep around, but not deal with the consequences of take responsibility. So they want to have the baby pay
the penalty for their consequences with its life.

Same with STDs,

Instead of educating them to stay pure, they work to make drugs to treat the STDs so you can continue reckless behaviors without dealing with the consequences.

People aren't being taught God's Word in a lot of churches -- lots of congregations only want to hear 'feel good' sermons. And, you're right -- people want to be to 'do their thing' sexually, but with no negative consequences. Just doesn't work that way. And with same-sex coupling -- well -- brings Other physical , emotional problems, but no more babies.

People are wanting to "make" love through sexual intimacy instead of "showing" the love that's already existing between the man and woman.

And, Maybe, people need to know how to be Friends. A question was asked once -- if a person had to choose between having a friend OR having sex -- which would you choose. I'd rather have a friend -- because 'sex' Can be simply bodily interaction with another person with no real emotions / feelings involved.
