My humble opinion I feel in all the decisions we make in life should be judged upon the base of what would Jesus do,or how would he feel if he saw us in the nightclub? Its unwise to get drunk,Its unwise to put ourself in a dangerous situation to anywhere where the devil may easily tempt us,its much wiser to put ourself in a place where we can be strong and filled with Gods spirit.

I said maybe. Because I wont judge your purpurse of going to a nightclub.

But I believe that sin is everything that seperate you from God. So I believe that in most cases - yes, it would be sinful.

I didn't take notice at the particular word "clubbing" as I am not english-speaking, I didn't caught that it has a different meaning than just "going to a club".

When I was not a christian and went nightclubbing there was actually people from the pentacostel church who came to the nightclubs to tell people about Jesus :) But I know that's not the most likely reason for people (even christians) to go. So therefor: maybe! :)

Blessings, Carrie

Jesus isn't out to condemn us. I bet Jesus would go to a nightclub but He'd be doing different things there. You can go to a club and have self control. If you don't have it, don't go. I don't think its something that you should make a habit of but we can't have this attitude of touch not or see not every where we go. We live in the world even though we aren't of it. It really isn't a good idea to be sin conscious. We all know when we are sinning or engaging in sinful behavior and everywhere you go the enemy is trying to tempt you. Whether its in your own home or at a club, he's always trying to lay a trap.

Ya.. For us all things are lawful. Just not all things are good for us.

I certainly agree with that. And if a person can't control themselves being somewhere or around certain folks then they know they need to get away from there. Some churches are more dangerous than nightclubs.

LOL Ain't that the truth?:shade:

Sunglasses so you won't know who answered you.

Just my thoughts:
1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

What is it that you would be looking for in a night club? Just lost people doing worldly things.
What if by going I caused someone with an alcohol or lust problem to think it is okay and thereby cause them to stumble?

This is all that needs be said. I'll never go to one. Even before I became devout, I never wanted to go and never did go. Loud music and drunken louts is just not the greatest of places to be.

I think that if you aren't drinking and not dancing erotically, then I don't see a problem. But I wouldn't stay more than 2 hours max. If there's food, then I don't see a problem.

Same thing at taverns and pubs. It's okay, if there's food and music, but other than that no I wouldn't go. I only go for the food and live music (which I only go if they are playing soft rock, acoustic, or country. Nothing heavy, wild, erotic, or obnoxious).

But I would only stick to places that DO serve food, not just alcohol. And have abundant of NON-alcohol beverages also.

Depends with what purpose you are going there for.
It could be that :

  • You are involving yourself in an evil conduct, not worthy of the gospel of Christ.
  • You are going there because you want to save those who are lost into the Kingdom of God.
  • the LORD has led you there with His Holy Spirit with clear instructions to help lift someone back into His Presence.
God bless you

Night Clubbing?

Peace be unto you,

It is a sin for someone, Christian or not, to do something that is sin. The act of going to the night club is not a sin; one's intentions and what one does there could be sin. If, for some reason, God has sent you to this night club to glorify Him in some way, then it would, obviously, not be a sin. But, if you're going to be putting yourself, willingly, into a situation where you know that you might sin before you leave, I think it is a sin to do so.

I voted "Maybe" because the act itself is not a sin, and there are conditionals.

Matthew 9:10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

Matthew 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

Matthew 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I WILL HAVE MERCY, AND NOT SACRIFICE: for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

IT is so clear the answer is that it is a sin to go clubing. Only a christian who is either new, or has never grown would say that it is ok to go clubing

farout, are you saying that it is a sin to go clubbing with the intentions of behaving the way that everyone else there is behaving or are you saying that it is a sin to go to the building period?
