Islam and Christianity

Preoccupied with Islam

For the life of me I cannot understand the fear that American Christians in particular have with regards Islam. I could more appreciate the worries some European nations may have as immigration has brought radical changes to the demographic of several nations, particularly Britain and France.
But the US, despite 9/11, is looking in the wrong direction if they fear any sort of take-over from a foreign power.
Two years ago Benedict XV1 wrote an encyclical entitled Caritas in Veritas. This was a lengthy document, well written, urbane, logical, intelligent, and covered many issues that face our world today. World economy, food shortages, environmental problems, morality issues, corruption in politics, violence. Benedict clearly and eloquently put the case that a new order of governance is needed in the world, and this new order must have a Christian component based on love or charity, and truth. This encyclical isn't however a vehicle for promoting a new idea. Global ambitions have permeated the Vatican for centuries, but with patience they have bided their time until the opportunity comes to promote themselves seriously. Their time has come. With the previous pope travelling the world and promoting his church and his ideas everywhere and making a huge mark, and now the current pope following in his footsteps and taking up the mantle of his predecessor, the Roman church is actively placing itself into a position where their 'moral and spiritual authority' is recognised internationally and Benedict has on several occasions put his name forward as being the only viable leader for the NWO. And politicians are taking note.
I have no problem with a Christian component in the new institutions that are inevitable in the near future. The problem I have is that Christian component comes with the pope leading it.
America and the world has far more to fear from Catholic hegemony than from Islam. Roman Catholicism has no more toleration for non-Catholics than does Islam. And with 6 out of 8 members of the Supreme Court Catholic, and leading Catholic politicians throughout the land, religious liberty in the US is at greater risk today from Rome than from Mecca.
