June:"What's Abortion Anyway" New book for kids under 13 normalizes abortion

Once upon a time European civilization was a Christian civilization.
That does not mean that our civilization was utopia or paradise on Earth without sin; far from it.
What it meant is that the values and principles for the conduct of government and daily life came from the gospel.
Government and laws were for the welfare of the people.
The laws of the land primarily came from the Levitical code given to Moses.
This is especially evident in the development of English common law and legal law that derive concepts of justice and rights of the individual from Biblical law.
Two or three witnesses needed to convict a person - habeas corpus - the government is not above the law.

A couple of generations ago people were by and large obedient to the civil codes and the majority culture was derived from Christian culture that had developed our societies over the last 2,000 years.
But that does not mean all was perfect - crime existed, paedophiles raped children in church orphanages, racism and apartheid ruled, drunkenness was rampant, teenagers got pregnant before marriage,
abortions were done, some police were corrupt, and criminal gangs built their empires.

Then came the 1950s and 1960s and everything changed - it was as if He who restrains was taken away - and the Western world became bonkers and exchanged the truth for a lie.
Being cool. Rejecting establishment. Modern art. Modern theology. Modern thinking. The old was out and the new was in.
The contraceptive pill also changed everything for now you could have lots of sex and birth control. Sex without children = sex without marriage.
The mainstream churches were the first to betray Jesus and the gospel - and embraced alternative paths to God - the Bible was not really true, just myths and stories - Jesus may not have been God -
Jesus did not die the cross and was taken down while in a coma - Jesus was a guru just like Maharishi Mahesh Yogi - Allah is also God and Muslims travel a different road to God - Jesus did not resurrect from the dead.

So the Bible was thrown in the rubbish bin and other books became popular and the hippies and counterculture transformed themselves into public servants, professors and teachers, business entrepreneurs and got into politics.
But our own parents and grandparents went along with much of this happily. 8mm pornography films became readily available for projecting at men's nights. Then cassette videos by mail order.
I remember in the 1970s my parent's generation started to divorce their spouses and shack up with another partner. Everybody it seemed had reached a used by date.
Sin and lusts of the flesh are not just a new problem created by younger generations of today. Sin and wrongdoing is the legacy of every generation.

In the end you and I - cannot save the world for its fate is already written and this world that we know will burn with fire and the wicked with it.
God calls us out of the world to become citizens of another kingdom - the kingdom of Heaven and light - we do not live or think or desire as worldly peoples do.
We - the Spirit-filled church - are to uphold our testimonies to being converted by the indwelling Holy Spirit and draw those seeking God and truth to the gospel.

Abortion is a terrible sin of moral offence and denies life to millions of yet to be born souls, but in a world that murders and slaughters millions of people every year it is no worse nor no less
than all the other evils that goes on planet Earth. Trafficking children for sex is big business, as well as the child pornography industry (sorry that is child exploitation material now).
I still remember a prophecy spoken at one of our meetings during the operation of the voice gifts of the Holy Spirit when God clearly said that this world would burn and be completely destroyed, and all that God
would redeem out of this world were the souls of believers.
So that is our job to be lighthouses shining the gospel in a very dark world to rescue those who are being tossed to and fro in the waves.
Jesus is saving individual people through the gospel not saving the world at large.

Religious dictates is not a phrase I use. No doubt you have the education to post circles around my simple mind . I can see laws against murder as moral, most folks do. The tried line of not making moral laws, doesn't have a moral ring to it. No more from me to you on this topic.
I think if you believe the laws of America should be exercised and prosecute the public at large and according to Christian values and Biblical dictates, that you're living in the wrong country.

We have but to look at countries that givern according to their religious laws to see why America does not. Thank God.

We as individuals are responsible for living our faith. We should not be so insecure nor so pridefilled, self absorbed, and arrogant as to believe we have a God given right to force or actively pursue implementation of public policy that would make others abide, by law, to our religious values.

And we most certainly cannot say God is on our side in this issue. The Old Testament refutes any idea of our insisting God is pro-Life.

We must take responsibility for our lives and choices. We are not of this world, why would we expect this world to follow us?
