Little white lies?

How about just smiling sincerely at the person (you love the person, after all, and you appreciate the person,) and saying "Thank you."? It really is the thought that counts, and I have been thankful for gifts simply because the giver thought of me, not necessarily because it was a gift I loved, but because they were so thoughtful.

Or, how about, "Well, the green dress you tried on first looked better on you."

To be honest, I don't think the majority of lies told are about how we look in a dress or whether we like a gift or not.

Lies of any kind are wrong though. The bible is clear about that. After all, God never lies, He is Truth. And you know that other guy--he's the father of lies, I don't want anything to do with him.

Little white lies, leads to bigger lies.

Planting a seed (little white lie) of deciet, within our own lives is unprofitable in every way.

Ever told a little lie?
Had to back it up?
Got deeper and deeper?
Then got in trouble?

I was a compulsive lyer till my early 20s. I was constructing a make believe life around myself, because I hated who I was. I still know people who lie all the time.

They have become something that isnt real. They live a lie. They are a lie. I send my love to them when they lie alone at night, how hard it must be.

Remember it started with a little white lie..............................................

Lies Hurt

People who lie cannot have a normal friendship or marriage. I know, because I was married to an intelligent, brilliant person for 17 years who had a problem with truth.
People who lie start to believe their own lies, and nothing they say is ever true. And if, by chance it were true, you would not believe them because they have lied to you so many times.
Lies hurt people. They hurt spouses, and they really, really hurt children. The sad part is, lies also hurt the liar.
One thing that always comforted me in my marriage to an untruthful person...is that I could open the Word of God. The Word of God is pure Truth, and I drank of it and ate of it every day and could not have lived without it. I'm not exaggerating. I should be so dependent on the Word of God now.
Addictions foster lies. Alcoholism, sexual addiction, pornography addiction, drug addiction, etc.---the person starts living a lie to hide his or her secrets, and therefore, constantly lies to try and cover until a huge web of lies forms.
There is freedom for everyone who comes to Christ. I still pray for my ex-husband, the father of my two oldest children, that he will come back to Christ.

With the TRUTH of gods word, it directs our path.

The second we even think about lieing to anybody, this is the path of the evil one.

Even the littlest white lie, your on the start of a path, you dont wish to choose.

May GOD send LOVE and TRUTH to us the second a decietful thought enters our mind.

Amen.

(EDIT) Lying will change our futures for the worse.

I realize this is a very old thread but thought I would speak about it.

After I became a follower of Christ, I went to the "playgroud for liars" the used car lot. The "old" me would've lied about the value of my trade-in, but I thought twice, and extended to the owner the value I would accept for my vehicle. After returning from the test drive of the newer car, I was blessed with an offer of even more than that, and I've had absolutely no problems with my newer car! I believe God blessed me in return for my honesty, in a situation (trading in cars) where honesty is definately in short supply!

Amen brother! God blesses the obdedient and disciplines the disobedient (yet still a blessing, but us spoiled ones are looking for a tangible reward blessing first).

I even started a thread on "Who is Blessed by GOD" here

God bless
